Martin WSK style 1st attempt

Tim, a knifemaker membership is inexpensive and you'd more than pay for it with one orderr of a knife. If you get a knifemaker membership, you can post your own threads about your knives.

Mr. Martin has a knifemaker membership. That's why he can post pictures of his work and you cannot. I can't make exceptions for you, because that would obviously be unfair to those who have paid.

If you get a knifemaker membership, then you can post your knife pictures in another makers' thread. It's still classless and tacky, but I can't can't stop you from being tacky. Being tacky is not against the rules. However, you might want to consider how you want to be perceived. And if you wnat to be tacky, don't be surprised when you get called on it. That's all.

Cool tsf ! I want to thank you guys for all the positive feedback on this little project, and as soon as the first ones are finished I will get them posted. We will probably have the first ones out by mid-summer. What part of Texas are you in Terry?

I live in Houston, but I have a little ranch up east Texas I'm trying like hell to to get to for good. The wife and I have a 5 year plan. I think your WSK would look real good on a belt with my .44.

Awesome Terry! Get out of the city and to the ranch as quick as you can. East Texas is sweet. We do some hunting about an hour N. of Houston on a buddies place. His feral hog population is out of control, but it makes a great place to test knives.

I've got a bunch rooti'n around my cabin all the time. I guess I'm gonna have to track em' and get me some bacon! They say we can kill these things all day year round and never get rid of them. I think of them as food storage.LOL. The deer population seems to be coming back a little stronger than previous years. You going out around Huntsville or Livingston? My place is west of Lufkin/Nacodoches.

Our "field testing" area is over in Montgomery county. 2,700 acres that used to belong to a paper co. A great area to try out new blades and such while hunting. We plan to take a couple of the WSK styles out there this summer.

2700 ac is a nice size playground! I've got 170, but dream of the 2-3000. I'd have to run off a lot of neighbors.

"Hank, that came out beautiful. I'll take one. Also, I would like to see one made with A2 steel and Parrish style sawteeth (like below) Or even Randall's style teeth. And please keep them out of the edge grind like you done with that WSK..." --Jules"

Hank,

Just came across this thread. Jules already said everything for me... This has already been stated and seconded, but I'd like to re-iterate/re-emphasize the Parrish style sawteeth first, and the A-2 steel second. (I personally don't care for Randall style teeth.) I wouldn't get rid of my Parrish for anything, and largely due to the effectiveness of those teeth. Jules is also spot on about the teeth too close to the point on another version of this knife. I'll be eager to see the progress of your work. Thanks!
