Eagerly awaiting this! I’ve had the page open for days contemplating the purchase. Wondering if this will scratch my itch for a Laconico without shelling out for a Jasmine or an EZC.
I think I understand where you’re coming from when you say this. There’s a certain sense of ... raw/no frills external, extremely refined mechanics... I think that’s the best way to explain it... when looking at Laconico customs. Slabs, with gorgeous grinds riding on glass. That feel seems translated best with the Keen, MBK Minpin, and the Alliance EZE, while the Kizer produced versions deliver the designs with a softer feel due to the extra level of contour.
If I’m understanding your perspective correctly, it’ll either meet that feel, or leave you feeling like you want to bring in just one more, with a blade shape you’re more accustomed to from Ray.
Having said all of that, per Ray’s IG comments, his EDC for awhile now has been a purple, plain handle Keen.
That's great. Maybe now he'll start making longer blades for his custom work.... per Ray’s IG comments, his EDC for awhile now has been a purple, plain handle Keen.
Well.... afteraleforme gave his endorsement I watched Cedric's video on YouTube and lost all self control... I ordered the plain grey with groove. Still looking forward to your review

Or not.Looking forward to today's maildrop...
Is there a way to remove those snail trails?
First time I've seen one with a lanyard, and it looks really great Haldin. Nice cord choice!I'm not gonna lie, it's everything I'd hoped and maybe a bit more. Fit and finish perfectly dialed, super thin grind, screams Laconico design. Love the spear point blade with the full flat grind. Just so, so versatile. It's one of those knives that makes me think "Maybe I could just carry one pocket knife forever..."
I will say, the blasted finish does take snail trails super easily just in case that is an issue for anyone. A drop of KPL on the detent ball turned it super drop-shutty. Not guillotine-style but just the lightest bit of movement and down it goes...if that's something folks are wondering about.
The other thought I've had is that it's just so strange to live in a world where Slysz Bowies are going for $400 and this can be had with ease for $140. This is definitely a knife that punches way, way above its price point. I'm gonna be carrying it a lot.
