It`s only two weeks away, so it`s time to see who is coming. Post here if you will be there!
I`m also adding what you will be bringing to eat.

1) JK Knives (baked beans)
2) jds1 ( cold salad dish (to be determined) and some beer)
3) mqqn (steak, baked potato or some other side, soda/beer/water - plates, plasticware, napkins etc)
4) Mr. Sogetsu

I won't be able to make it - I have a bunch of knife guys coming to my house that day to fish, eat steak and have a good time.

I was tentatively planning on it & was trying to get out of something else. I may be stuck with not getting out of the other event. I'll keep you updated as the info comes to me.
 
Hi John -

Maybe being down south is keeping some of the Chicago-land folks from coming to the event.

Mr. S - just bring yourself - I have fishing gear for anyone who wants to fish but does not have a kit for the contest - I have 12 fishing poles all rigged up and ready to go.

I won't know until a day or two before the day. If I do make it, you won't need to do anything special for me, I just want to meet all of you and enjoy the day.
 
I`m willing to carpool if anybody wants to. I don`t think it`s too far to drive. When my daughter was in college in Macomb, I would leave here early on a Saturday morning, drive the 225 miles to school, drive 70 miles to Peoria, (the closest mall), drive 70 miles back to school, drive around the small towns in the area, (usually about 40-50 miles), then drive the 225 miles back home. So basically about 630 miles in the day. Of course gas was a lot cheaper then.
 
Well, I guess I must have missed the thread as to where this thing is supposed to be taking place! For me it depends on how far away from John's place that it is being held I guess! I think John's place is about my limit for right now! I am at the moment getting around slowly on my own but, at least I am walking without any aids! I am still having to depend on the old woman to drive me around! Somebody let me know where this is going to be, and maybe I can sit down with the woman and see if she is willing to bring me out or if it is going to be too far away! Thanks guys, I'll be waiting to hear from someone!

It`s going to be near Peoria, about 150 miles south of me. The only thing I`m waiting on is to see what gas will cost in 2 weeks, it`s $4.50 right now, if it gets much higher I won`t be there either!
 
Hi Guys -

I am able to drive up to Johns house if it will be a problem for folks to come downstate.

If Jeff is in the area, we could ride up to Johns together (I think his mother in law lives in the Peoria area).

Just say the word.

I have not heard from Sean either - I hope everything is ok.
