MAYBE the most beautiful and affordable traditional luxury European knife EVER!

Hi everyone !

Thanks for the talking and for the advices about "guaiac".

I understand the issue about our pricing and the actual €/$ currency doesn't help by the way.

I am not going to argue about it, I am not here to advertise, just to thank ;)

Just a little precision : Laguiole is not a brand, the model is public and anyone (and everywhere) can make some if he follows the lines and place a bee on the top.

Some fine brands and knifemakers make very good Laguioles, such as "Fontenille-Pataud", Robert Beillonnet, Henri Viallon, Pascal Graveline... Those names are a guarantee of quality but the word "laguiole" only unfortunately is not.

The "Thiers" is a slightly different case. It is also not a Brand, but it is copyrighted. This model is shared in a gathering of local brands.

Our brand choose to act independently and not to make traditional knives, only original designs.

Hey, Perceval, welcome! Nice to see you here!
Sorry for some wrong informations I may have given here. I can't be as clear as you are. At least, some of the forum members here seem to have understood the beauty of your products, which is great. Let's hope it'll help your reputation a little, at least for a few expert American collectors.
Thanks again for your designs.
Best regards,
A.

Alex17,

You probably are just enthusiast but all that sounds like an advertisement.

A third of the posts of this thread are your's. It's much.

Yet, Esav Benyamin who is, in his good days, a wise man has warned you: "you talk too much".

A bon entendeur...

Good looking pocketknife - I like the lines and the clean look of it. My budget remains a Victorinox one and that's cool with me but what you've posted is pretty. Thanks for sharing!

If you knew your own language a little better, you'd know that "à bon entendeur" is a threat: "Cette expression, qui date du XVIIe siècle, est en général une menace." So, where is the warning here? Are you the Language Militia? How many words am I allowed to write before you unleash your almighty sacred anger? Are you gonna ask the forum authorities to fire me because I disturb your awesome wiseness? Where are your supa powas, hun?
I just have a question... Why do you read me, if you don't like it? Why? Are you the kind of guy who feels the need to censor others? Very French attitude, indeed. Or some kind of BDSM mood, maybe? Then, buy a Mantis knife. Mantis knives are too stupid to talk.
Here you are, imho:

You're welcome! It's cool to see that some of you share the excitement about such pure lines. Cold Steel doesn't rule - not on this thread, at least.

Why all the hate for cold steel?
Because it's ruled by a martial-arts-obsessed guy who has only one concept in his head: "LIFE = SURVIVAL = FIGHT = WAR = VIOLENCE = MUSCLES = WEAPONS = ARMS = STRENGTH = ME". I saw an interview recently, he explains he trains all the time, just like some unstoppable Bruce Lee waiting for a Chuck Norris that'll never come. He sells tear gas... And he wears shorts on DVD boxes, which is a deadly sin in my eyes. I practice kendo, and all we learn is: the guy who desperately needs to be seen as a fighter will never be a fighter. Why should I respect his brand and products? Because they are solid? Well... Ka-Bar does it much better, with much less fake Hong Kong cheap movies rage.

I love when he cuts big pieces of meat. I'd like to take him to Afghanistan, and see how he reacts when big pieces of meat fire AK-47s at him. This video smells like hatred, arrogance and neurotic obsessions...

This one is great too, when the guy cuts a boot full of meat... LOL of the year... Am I the only one to see that those movies are full of perv gore grotesque white trash madness?

And if you really wanna survive a fight, here is a beautiful article that shows how wrong the Cold Steel stuff is:

Please keep this thread reasonably on topic, and post the Practical Tactical comments in that forum.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't mind the steel as long as the HT is good. This blade reminds me of the gentleman's version of the Emerson A-100 series.

That was my impression too, pretty classy knife! But it does cost the same as an A100 after shipping :(

perceval, you make a nice looking blade. That mammoth and damascus is very nice. I love seeing new knife makers.

Alex17, thanks for posting a few pics, but you're really making me never want to buy or search for a Perceval knife. Which sucks for Perceval. You've said you're piece, no need to continue challenging opinions and issuing backhanded comments.

Enough of the childish antics.

This is getting quite old from several of you and to be honest our patience with your antics is quite thin.

You know who you are. I suggest testing us no further should you wish to remain here you need to start acting like adults instead of children.

My next step will be to make sure the antics/trolling stop.

You react like a spoiled child who can't bear the slightest contradiction. I won't answer to your childish questions, they just are too... childish.

About my "own language": "A bon entendeur salut" means: "The one who understands avoids the danger" it's not a threat, it's a precept.

Thanks for the advice about those Mantis knives. I will look at.

They're hugely popular, you're right. But I can't stop thinking "When things get serious, who wants a Vic instead of a Leatherman Super-Tool 300?" I can't prevent myself from seeing Vic products as cute knives.

And I don't consider Le Français as "the untouchable EDC", definitely not. I consider that a real EDC has to be very solid. A Manix2 would be more "untouchable" in my eyes. What fascinates me in Le Français is that it expresses what I prefer in design: absolute simplicity.

I prefer Victorinox over Leatherman any day. Much better build quality, tolerances, ect. Check out multi tool reviews and you will see most people prefer the Vic.

dantzk,

What was so hard to understand about stop?
I hope the infraction lends to some understanding of what stop actually means.

The Le Francais is available in a true left hand version at the same prices. Good to know....

I have received my first Perceval (a L-08) two weeks ago and I am really satisfied. The blade is razor sharp and leaves a good impression. I do have some knifes with 154CM and S30V and the 19C27 doesn's seem to be much worse. But I am no steel-fetishist and I could not find a long-time-comparison between a 154CM and a 19C27 knife. In fact, I could not find any 19C27 reviews at all. :( Due to the very good processing I think the price is justified. Maybe I might think differently about this if I would be living in the US, as the actual Euro-Dollar currency makes it slightly more expensive there.

Here are some pictures:
