Anyone else here snag an EWC this morning?

Apparently it’s been in the works for awhile but I just learned of it by email yesterday.

I’ve carried an EZC since the first run and it’s been a winner. But if the EZC got Ray Laconico nicked Mr. Clean this minimalist carbon fiber slip joint will make him Super Clean.

I just received a shipping email. It’ll be here by Friday.

The EWC is a one-handed opener. It likely bumped an Impinda for me.

I have one of the first titanium EZC versions, but I am not really interested in this one. I also have a Min Pin.

It looks good, but I am not really a big fan of front flippers.

Got mine on Friday. It’s a great little front flipper that’s already bumped my EZC.

It’s slimmer, lighter in carbon fiber than Ti, and sleeker in appearance without the lock bar. The action is excellent in both directions with a rocket like thrust and very positive detent in the open position. Closing is also a positive controlled push with little to no danger of springing the blade quickly on a finger. It’s far easier to close an SAK on a finger than this knife.

Overall I’m very impressed.

Mine's scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Pretty stoked about this as a gentlemans and ultralight carry. Love the idea and what looks like fidgetastic action.

As long it's used as a slipjoint is intended, and don't pry anything with it, it's a dandy little slicer. At 2.1 oz confirmed it disappears so in a pocket the clip is superfluous. It almost doesn't make sense to carry anything else.

I'd like to see a comparison video between two slippies, a Laconico EWC (3" blade/2.1oz) and a Harsey Impinda (3.125" blade/3.38oz).

Got mine and so far I like it but I wish they had chamfered the edges of the CF.

It’s a little sharp, especially the butt end in the palm of my hand from flipping it.(kind of a hot spot for me) but I was fidgeting with it quite a bit.

Got mine today, and I'm pretty impressed overall. The edge grind is kinda uneven on mine, but it is very sharp and I can fix it on my Wicked Edge eventually.

The action is excellent.

Yes, the grind is slightly rough (under a 20x loupe) but it is sharp. A mirrored edge would suit this small gentlemen’s knife very well.

I haven’t disassembled it, and likely won’t, but I’m fascinated by how well the mechanism works. I got it to budge, but not close, while coring a large onion, but that was far more than slicing.

I haven’t noticed a problem there but it would easy enough to file the edges. The CF itself has a very fine finish and appearance.

As to QC overall, it’s excellent where it counts. One tiny quibble is the pocket clip is ever slightly off center.

Anyone else have an annoyingly scratchy thing going on with their detent ball rubbing on the blade? I've taken mine apart, cleaned and lubed it and everything. Still pretty scratchy. Action is good, but it's still a bit annoying. Maybe it'll break in with a little time.

This is not a thumb flipper. Very different. The operator’s finger action works like any flipper frame or liner lock.

Mine also seems to have some audible rubbing going on and I believe I’ve heard it on at least one review video too.

Handled one of these at blade show west. This is a hilariously fun design. One or two tries to get the feel for it and then you can flip back and forth easily — and have a huge smile while doing it. This is a cool knife.

I took mine by the MBK booth at Blade West and Sanford took a look at mine personally, took it apart, cleaned it up, etc. It's definitely better now, though still a little rough. I'm waiting to see if it breaks in. If not, he said I could send it to him and he'd replace it. I was very satisfied with the customer service he has going.
