I think it’s just the weight. While it did trim those small branches well I definitely noticed the weight and that’s quite a bit of how I use big blades.

Just some quick chopper action at work, pretty sure this is a small mesquite.
One chop, missed cleaving it by about 3/16”. Branch was 1.5” or so
