Meet The Real BB13. . . . Here's A Special Offer And Some Cool Pics!!!

Why not add a BG to compliment the CG? I could not think of a reason why not, so I called today to bring balance to the force.

I broke down too. Thought the CG was going to be enough but as usual, I was wrong. Ordered a BG to go with it last night.

Yeah... I did the same. At $267 its just too good of a deal to pass up.

One of each will do me. :D

Caved and ordered a CG, moss green. Now I need to debate on canceling my 2GBM-e or hoping that I can swing them both. I imagine there's plenty of time to save up, as I'm sure neither will start shipping until at least mid to late summer...

ETA: Anyone know if Busse offers payment plans? That may be necessary in my case, lol

Both grades together are cheaper than a NMFBM from the custom shop and if the performance is comparable then it is a home run purchase.

Agree-at this price you will not find a better piece of Infi or SR-101

Strip it, maybe let Ban do his thing if it really feels that heavy at .25" -- I doubt it will though...the Res-C treatment seems to really lighten things up.

Is Ban still doing his thing? I have an AK that I wanted to get Banned years ago, but I'd heard he wasn't doing it any more.

QUESTION: would anybody have a rough ballpark estimate on how much it would it cost to send this to the Custom Shop and have them take the BB13 down to a FFG?

My unofficial guess is a whole lot, and they aren't taking any custom work right now. There are other people that have done Busse regrinds, but I still think it would be pretty expensive.

If it's heavier than I like, I might thin one of mine out, but I'll probably like it the way it is and just do a nice rough ghetto satin.

If you want it pretty, that's a whole lot of surface area to work on.

The CG looks almost like the 13olo thread design bacon wrapped in more infi... so... with enough modification I might be able to find the 13olo thinfi center like a tootsie roll pop. :p Just might take a lot more licks with a sandpaper tongue. ;)

Instead of shooting for a full flat, if you just sand the flat sides until the INFI dimples are gone, you will be taking off a good bit of metal. It might take a month worth of free time, but it is easy enough to do yourself. Just make sure you keep it wet or wear a respirator. I like wet because it keeps it cool too.

You could work down the primary grind too but that is going to be a lot more difficult to do well. I think it took me about a week to full convex my RMD by hand with sandpaper. This is going to be about 3 times as long, twice as tall, and 33% thicker, so that is 9 times as much metal to remove, then at least twice that to get it down to full flat. INFI does regrind easier than SR101 though in my experience.

I had to have both --- they're so different from each other. The Battle Grade is the largest, blade height tallest, and longest 3/16ths knife ---- that thing must swing fast and hit really hard.

Then there's the CG which ----- I honestly think is more likely to perform like a small axe than a machete. Can't wait!
