Isn't alox essentially aluminum? I've always wondered why they call it that.

I think it's a combination of embossed aluminum with an oxidized coating

Nifty. My maternal gramps was a carpenter. (he passed in 1966)
He had one of these. I don't know who made it.
He also had the wooden 36" version.
He kept them in his self made carpenter's tool box. I don't know who inherited it ... I just know it wasn't me or my two brothers.
