I'm glad I got this when I did. They seem to have discontinued the 5-incher.

Maybe that's why this one was cheap enough for me.

How are you liking the Micarta bolster now that you’ve had it awhile?

I like it a lot. Its a good sized knife length wise, but its so thin and light it carries really well, even in shorts. Its plenty rigid for anything I'm likely to do with it. If its not, I probably should be using a different tool altogether

I carried it to the dentist today and forgot it was there.

All that said, I liked it so much I bought the titanium version. Its a little heavier, but still very light. It does have a more "solid" feel, but anything I'm likely to cut with it, I could cut with the micarta just as well. As an ex cyclist I remember the early titanium bicycle frames. I never got one of those, but I got a titanium knife
