Looking at my DD-214, there are some sections that Have CAPITILIZED LETTERS and Some THat Do nOt.
I guess I should be sent to prison for falsifying a federal docoment.
I saw another post where the DD-214 is typed up electronically. I call BS as I was there when the Seargant was tying up my paperwork on a manual typewriter and specifically remember him making corrections due to typo errors.
BTW, I have the NOV 88 dated form. I'm a super boot.
I never said it was false or that Mick altered it. For all I knew it was fine, or if altered someone else changed it that copied or scanned it. I said based on all I'd seen, including my own that they were upper case. I am not the only one.
I also backed out of this thread back on page 51 until you started quoting me.
As for some of the other things I've read. I guess you guys/gals and your other brothers think that if you sat down with me for some beers at the pub should we meet one day that it would be ok for me to start telling tall tales about my military life? I guess so because that seems to be what you are implying that its not only ok, but honorable and forgivable to embellish as I go. Even if I just start making them up as I go, and then even selling you a couple of special folders I made that I could back up with some practical 'combat' experience for you just to make the sale, you'll forgive me. I mean hey, I'm a star and you are spell bound to be at my table. I'm Jim Jones baby! Seriously if I did that, if anyone did that, it is wrong and you know as well as I do if I did do something like that, I'd not only be called out on it but based on Mick's own words in a post he made, I would be held accountable for it also. While you fellas are devoutly following remember that if it were the other way around everyone of these guys including Mick would be on you like flies on a sticky strip the way Mick tore into Mr.Osman accusing him of the very thing that it appears Mick is actually the one guilty of. I find it odd that everyone wants to lay blame somewhere other than the source. This is nothing more than karmic debt and a prime example of the old saying, "what goes around comes around."

That bothers me. Because of that, I hold people accountable for their words and actions.
Anyone that makes it a habit of embellishing his tall tales, changes the story, edits posts after a law suit is started, changes them again later, retracts some from the past he missed the first and second time leaving just a few of the ones he missed after the other sweeps, regardless of how he talks a good story may as well just steal my car from me too when he has had his last beer. I am not saying this ever happened. Its just a fantasy I made up as if I did it. I don't really know Mick or his habits. For all I know he belongs to AA.
Sooner or later one that tells tall tales gets called out on it. It is no longer a question of should he have been called out on it or not. He has been called on it. Its done. My point is that this conduct slaps all the true heroes and vets in the face for their own service to their country. It isn't honorable, it does not show much integrity and it isn't in conjunction with rules of conduct that I understand is now law.
For that matter it goes against the Bushido virtues talked about in certain circles on the USN welcome forum where not that I can use that anymore since I got a heads up yesterday from a friend there telling me that I needed to choose which forum I was going to support, the USN or the Blade Forums. That "or else" tone made my mind up right then and there, but rather than be hot headed about it I slept on it first, thought about it, and then I resigned my membership over there this day in 2007. It was not a big surprise when the return email after I politely asked them to close my account confirmed what I had been told yesterday when Lifter told me that it was no big deal since I was on a list of those they were discussing removing anyway. This even though I did not violate any of the rules I agreed to when I became a member I might add. It is simply because I posted here in a thread the folks there don't like. I no longer belong to the USN forum for nothing other than adding 3% of input to the total reply count on this thread.
Personally I have no gripe with Mick or the USN, I'll get over it. I only had 350 or so posts there anyway. I wish him and the fine folks I met and came to know over there the best. I make more money off this forum Spark runs than all others combined. In conclusion. My family thinks Mick is a con. I've been dealing with that issue for more than the time since this thread was started. Between these two things it was a no brainer what I had to do. If I have to choose between my hobby and the most people that use me for work, and my family over the USN and Mick Strider you folks know where I am going to go.
You other guys that belong there popping in and out of this thread should know that the Administration over there may not be posting here, but they are watching and reading and if you say one wrong word the wrong way, whether you break the rules you agreed to or not, guess what? You're on the list.

You may already be on it so don't be surprised when they do some house cleaning and you can't get in.
