Microtech Is Making "Production" Folders Again! First Run Of STD 2015 Socom Delta

... and presumably, horribly tacky embroidered shirts :D

Laughed my ass off at that one.

As Anthony Marfione said at BLADE this year, "I don't collect knives; I collect machine guns and dead presidents"...

Can't remember which interview it was where he said that but I lost what little respect I had for that guy when I heard him say that. I respect his craftsmanship and knifemaking skill but he just seems like such a smarmy, insincere individual. And the warranty horror stories don't help.

With that said, I still miss my G10 S35VN Socom Delta. It was my first "expensive" knife and pretty much the gateway into legit knife collecting. If they actually put them back into production they better produce more clip point Deltas, because those tantos are a serious pain to sharpen and have no practical benefit, granted I know Microtech and practicality are rarely mentioned in the same sentence. But I'd buy one.

They posted on their Instagram today that there are Socom Delta's in aluminum and G10 coming out soon, with a 5/2015 birth date. This time around the aluminum is going to be anodized in multiple colors, including red or blue.

Has anyone here heard or seen anything recently, regarding the release of these, MT Socom Delta's?

Thanks!

Thanks for giving me the motivation to look Kelama.

Look what I just found on Ebay for $375. Here is the link too.

Awesome! Thank you guy's- I really appreciate the feedback. I sent Clayton, of eknives, an email along with an inquiry. I'm really hoping to land one of these newer model's in the blue anodized.

Misanthropia, actually sent me a PM, with a couple of link's. He also stated that it appears that MT, has switched this 2015 Socom Delta, to a nonadjustable pivot.

I'm curious to what people's feelings are, regarding this. Also, does anyone happen to know if there will be any coming out in Satin, or Stonewashed blade finishes?
Thanks, in advance

HQ has them in the coming soon category.

E-Knives has some!! Looks like they only have one red and one black handle versions.

Ok, who bought the black one...lol!

Haha! Not me...I just checked back in at this very moment. I'm really hoping for one of these blue model's.

That pivot pin sure looks adjustable to me as it has the indentations to fit one of their "special" tools into. But I'm no knife doctor.. :)

It may be back on bushings instead of bearings. Mt did bushings that were just a hair wider than the blade stock so you would just crank it down as far as it will go and let the tolerances determine the blade play. Maybe its still on bearings and they just did away with the torx pivot.

If anybody buys one of these beauties, be sure to report back here with impressions and pictures asap for the rest of us drooling fools!

I just got one of the new DOCs in elmax and the detent is just insanely strong. It cannot be flipped with one hand. I don't want to sending it in because of the CS horror stories but I don't want to return it either. Any suggestions?

I would advise you to send it in back to the dealer if possible. I know they don't like it, but if you are going to sell things, eventually you will get returns. It's just part of their business..
Also, would it be possible to work out an exchange?

The MT Socoms are in fact coming in all flavors and colors. I only have a zombie left but will have red blue and black back in stock as well as G-10 models. So all your fav dealers will have them this week if they don't already fyi.

By any chance, do you know when production Tachyon 3 will be available?

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I purchased a new in the box Socom Delta 163-7 knife yesterday, but I have a few questions about the knife that I am hoping that someone can hopefully answer.

The Socom Delta that I purchased yesterday has a three pin pivot screw that I like, but it is not the standard T30 Torx pivot screw that you see in all of the photos and videos of the older made 2012 and 2013 Socom Delta knives.

I was doing a little research last night on the three pin style pivot screw style and found a youtube video that was made on 7/9/2015 that is showing some new 2015 blade stamped Socom Delta knives and they all have the three pin pivot screws like the one that is installed in my older 08/ 2012 blade stamped Socom Delta knife.

The person that I purchased the knife from said that they are a Microtech Dealer, so I am assuming that they must have received this knife New in the box from Microtech with the three pin pivot screw already installed.

So here are my questions.

1. Did Microtech ever used new old stock Socom Delta blades that were dated 08/2012 with the newer style three pin pivot screws?

2. Could this knife have possibly been a knife that was returned to Microtech and then updated with the newer style three pin pivot screw before being shipped to the dealer for resale?

Now I am also assuming that the three pin pivot screws are the newer style due to the youtube video that I saw that was selling new in the box 2015 blade stamped Socom Delta knives that have S/N's that are in the 4,000 plus range.

I am very interested in the reason that a 08/2012 blade stamped Socom Delta would have the three pin style pivot screw in lieu of the T30 Torx, so any help you can give me on my above questions would be great, thanks for all your time.
