Microtech Is Making "Production" Folders Again! First Run Of STD 2015 Socom Delta

I feel that Microtech may inadvertently price themselves out of their market with this model. The Socom is an amazing knife but 330-350 is honestly a bit much for what you're getting in this case.

Yep I'm trying to score one around 260 but I won't go higher when 300 is approaching the price of knives I want more than the socom.

The aluminum models were always more than the g10. The price sucks, but you're getting some quality machining that goes along with it. I don't think microtech is having any problems selling this model as they have released a small batch that went super quick. I doubt they'll increase the supply, thus keeping the cost up.

sadly you won't find any for 260, or even 300. You could check out the kevin john full titanium chinese model, which runs about 280.

G10 ones should be running at most 280. At least last time I checked.

I appreciate hearing your opinion. In my opinion I think the Microtech Socom Delta is the single best knife that $350 can buy you. By a very, very long shot. I own 3 Socom Delta's. They have completely ruined me on ever buying from ZT or Benchmade ever again. Even my Sebenza.. And thing cost 500 whopping dollars.

But next to a $200 or $250 ZT or Benchmade, the extra hundred bucks for the Socom gets you (in my opinion) double the knife. And.. 10 times the classiness.

If I had to choose between a $500 Sebenza or $350 Socom, it would be the "cheap" Socom every day of the week. That massive Ti frame lock on the Socom and the .16 thick blade combined with (get this) matching scales on both sides of the knife. I am head over heals in love with it. In the pocket, I prefer the look of the Socom over the Sebenza too. It looks a little classier. No kidding, I wore my Marfione Socom to my insurance office today, but it looks the same as the standard in the pocket. The Sebbie never gets worn to the office.

Again, just my opinion. And I respect yours too. We all like what we like.

Dang, I wish I hadn't held off on the last run of socom deltas. That price increase is going to hurt if I can ever find these in stock

They'll be around shortly. I've wanted one for years, so finally just bit the bullet.

I got my red socom delta. This folder is pure bad ass. I think it's my favorite to date.

Just an fyi, knifeworks shows stock on some A159 and A163 deltas. The pics and descriptions indicate the T30 pivot and ats-34 blades, so they might need to be updated? Good price.

Not to muddy the water, but keep in mind they're expanding the range for SOCOM Elites. My understanding is that these had been permanently discontinued but that's apparently not the case. I love both the Delta and Elite, with a slight edge to the Elite primarily for aesthetics. Both beautiful and very tough, nice knives. I currently own two Deltas (one in G10, one in aluminum). The Elite I have is black with CF inserts, and really looks great. The only Elites of the newer runs I've seen have the grip tape inlays, so I don't know if CF inserts are an option this time around.

Navitimer, are the new Elites still tip down carry? I had no idea they were going back into production. Blew my mind..
