Microtech problems

TO SUM IT UP THEY DON'T GIVE A SH T.......................

And that's a surefire recipe for failure no matter how good your product is. The only place that's an effect business model is in the government, and it's not really working out that well for some of them lately.

First hand knowledge is always best....

Last September I sent them an OTF for a repair. I had it back in less than two weeks.

Great customer service as far as I'm concerned.

...Even if you're at the top of the game, you never want to give your customers any reason to try the competition. The CS experiences relayed here convey an image of business arrogance. Intended or not, the message they're sending is: "We're so good and our products are so desirable that your problem is rather insignificant." ...

well said...

I love microtech knives for sure and will definitely continue to buy them, mostly scarabs and halos. that being said, it really is disappointing that a company of this stature, with such a fan base, completely sucks at customer service. there is really no excuse. if they are banging out there aluminum OTF knives for $300 all day long, every day, i assume they are making lots of money! If they used some of that money to make their customers happy who already bought knives, before they make new knives, they would probably be surprised how much better their brand image becomes.

so...if they are really trying to make money and expand their business to whatever city it is now, it seems fair to say they could use a better business leader. These knives are very complicated as far as other knives on the market. One of their nice OTFs wont work if microtech makes one little mistake on one little part. That's bound to happen here and there, but its unacceptable to sell such a knife to anyone for hundreds of dollars, let alone a microtech fan. soo....were going to have to send knives back once in a while. or we should at least feel comfortable that will can if we need to.

when (.......) that knife comes back, and it was a bad experience, ill be reminded of it everytime i think of the company, and like he said, well start checking out other companies...Dalton is a risk-taking, artistic dude, but i like my microtechs...

i work in a small business doing scientific glasswork. we have a shop, and we have an office. the office people do office work, and the shop people do shop work. maybe tony and the crew should stay in the shop and get an office with people who know how to do office work. $35 dollars for a piece of paracord!!! thats a direct fuk you to someone who just went out on a limb and spend hundreds of dollars on your product....

I don't think they are out to screw anybody as they are also in the firearm business.

Opposite of the $40 screws, they have rebuilt knives at no cost to the original owner.

New rumors from two seperate sources both in the machine / tool and die business (not the knife business) and both geographically close to the Arden NC facility that some machinery has been repoed. Anybody else hearing anything similar.
