Hey guys. Does any one have any contact info for michael of michael maniord knives? I ordered a custom karambit from him about 2 months ago, and I havent received any email responses from him in about a month, despite my attempts to contact him. Im looking for a phone number or something so I can actually get ahold of him. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

It appears that Mike has fallen off the face of the planet. I've tried repeatedly to contact the guy for a while about an axe he was supposed to make for me over a year ago and he's done nothing but give me the run around. At this point he has taken my money and his website seems to be shut down. I feel like a fool when the guy was supposed to be an awesome knife maker.

In my experience he is not very trust worthy. We agreed upon a custom axe that he asked for money up front over a year ago, which I sent and I've received nothing from him. I feel pretty much like a fool after ready similar statement like Halfserrated's.

I just read the above post - I'm quite shocked and disappointed.
I'm really sorry to hear that man.
I've had dealings with Michael Maniord in the past - and they were courteously and professionally conducted.
Even entered into a business arrangement of sorts with him to reprofile a load old antique Japanese sword pieces and turn them into knives.
I thought that he would honour his promises to me - or at least return my sword pieces - to enable me to find a new bladesmith to work with.
I've had lots of mails from blade forum members with a similar story to your own. I'm sorry that I couldn't help them.
I know how you feel. There's also the matter of the paypal funds which he didn't even acknowledge.

If you feel like a fool - then I must be a real idiot - I sent antique swords to Michael Maniord some of them signed.
Some as a gift. All in good faith.
I'm waiting to hear from a friend who's ex LE about what can be done to track him down and recover my blades if not
my refund - and apology.

If anyone can offer any advice or help I'm sure all of us who feel "scammed" would greatly appreciate it.
I need to upload some photographs ( I've got photos of everything I sent for our business arrangement ) and start a new thread elsewhere - if anyone is offered any tactical pieces or regrinds made from antique Katana - they are almost certainly my pieces.

I've reached the end of my patience and hate it when kindness is mistaken for weakness.

That is a.shame Mike made me a great WSK at a fair price and he was great to work with last # I had for him was 479 2220 8550

This subject goes back to a thread a few weeks ago that alot of us suggested to avoid deposits and paying up front

I hope that Mike has just had a hiccup and he will be back on track he does a very nice job

This is what has happened to Mike..I only know Mike through him making a few blades for me. I spoke with him via text about a week ago, He has had alot of problems with his girl. She had him removed from his house and has all of his knife making tools. They have had problems all through the spring as I was waiting for a knife for some time and there was one excuse after another with the blade finally getting to me in very poor condition. After a lot on back and forth I got my money back and sent the blade back to him. About a week after that he sends me a picture of some blade and I ended up buying one and it shipped to me in a matter of two days and it was a nice knife very well put together. My point is he is all over the place in his latest service and I hope people get everything sorted out.

I am in the same boat. Mike has been having relationship issues for the last six months or so. He has been making excuses to me for about ten months. I am out $200 cash and a piece of CPM10V that was $200. I have talked to mike on the phone and he has basically gone on and on about his personal problems. He has told me that he is not going to commit to making the knife at all (after missing a dozen deadlines) and he is not able to refund my money. Nathan, I remember him saying that he was getting a bunch of Japanese sword pieces that he was going to make into neck knives....I am sorry that didn't work out. I wonder how many of us have been ripped off and what the total amount is. It might make it worth our while to look into our options as a group. It is really too bad that the guy is being a flake, he does make a hell of a knife. And yes, that Mugshot is his, part of the troubles with his girlfriend from what I understand.

greetings , well i paid mike maniord upfront for a custom karambit back in dec of 2009 and have yet to recieve my knife . I paid in full and he does not return any emails and to be honest im a bit pissed about it. - If any one has any contact info it would be greatly appreciated - thanks Josh

I am going through the exact same thing with this piece of filth. I am SUING him Friday in small claims court, for the $375.00 that he ripped me off for for a custom WSK. He gave me some sorry line of crap for not being able to refund my money about being near bankrupt, having his eBay account closed and working in the sun, although I have to say that some of his other cons, such as the bad breakup, jail time and a religious conversion are better. This man is a professional con artist.

I have taken the following actions: 1). I am suing him in small claims court; 2). I am reporting him to the Better Business Bureau; 3). I have reported him to Ripoffreport.com; 4). I will be calling the American Knifemaker's Guild and reporting him; 5). I will be contacting Blade, Knives magazine, etc., and try to have an alert published to not pay this thief for any work and; 6). I have already called all of the people that I still know who are influential members of the military special ops community and friends that I have in Washington, D.C., who know respected members of the knife and martial arts community. Once I go through small claims court on Friday, I'll have a lien placed against him, meaning that whatever money that goes into his bank account goes to ME, or else if he doesn't comply, he could face possible jail time.

Gentleman, I recommend that if you have been victimized by this sleaze, that you all do the same. It's high time to run this piece of crap out of the community. EVERYONE on this post, go to your local small claims court, sue him for what he rightfully owes you, report him to the above-listed consumer sites, call the Usualsuspects, knife magazines, etc., and plaster his name all over the Internet, so whenever anyone searches Maniordknives.com, which has been taken down and for which I would like to think that I am in a small way responsible, they will see nothing but smears against him. Let's get organized! If we all sue this piece of trash and have liens placed against him, he either is forced to pay or possibly goes to jail. Hopefully, he will have to declare bankruptcy and possibly could even have his house foreclosed, which would serve him right for stealing not only people's hard earned money, but cherished property as well. Otherwise, he'll just wrap up Maniord Knives, as he is rumored to have been behind Red Scorpion Six knives, which also was banned from this site for spamming and ripping customers off with Chinese made junk and start again under a different name.

Oh yes, if you wish to begin calling him to express your frustration, his number is (479) 220-8550. He apparently lives with his girlfriend at 2629 S Mount Olive Street, in Siloam Springs, AR 72761, if anyone needs this address to file the paperwork. This address is current, because the local Sheriffs served him with his papers there. His MySpace page is http://www.myspace.com/242451943, if you would like to see a nice picture of him playing the guitar or leave him a few friendly messages. His latest mugshot for his latest domestic dispute with his girlfriend is at http://arkansas.mugshotlist.com/maniord-michael-jay/. I'll put any more information on this guy up for everyone to have. Having dealt with con artists before, you have to back them into a corner to get back what they took, because when dealing with sociopaths and/or kleptomaniacs, they will steal, connive and manipulate even when there is no reward involved for them, just to control or feel the thrill. So, I would recommend that each of you begin calling and emailing at machab6@yahoo.com no less than ten times a day, every day. Good luck.

Are you able to sue from out of state in small claims? If so, I am going to file as well. He is into me for $400. I am in Loudoun County VA as well. What are the odds of that...lol

Hi guys,

I'm asking because I genereally like the aesthetics of Maniords work and have been wanting to get one of his pieces for my collection. I feel with you guys having money on the hang - and I really do hope you all get what's owed to you. Although I wouldn't dream of doing business with Maniord now, I would probably reconsider down the line, say if all debt becomes straightened out and Maniord steps up to his responsibillity like a gentleman.

However, that won't be the case if he turns out to be some sorry-ass wifebeater! I know and believe that you're innocent untill convicted and that a mugshot is made when you're charged with a crime - regardless if you did it or not. However, as a European I am interested in what constitutes 3rd degree battering under American legislation and if there's any way for the public to know if he gets convicted based on the charges?

And please, no rumor's and gossip. I don't care about different versions of what might have happened - I care solely about the eventual verdict of the court.

Thank you,

-Thorbjørn Koch

I just noticed that Mike is selling knives through a Dealer here. Please don't give him a hard time. I doubt that the Dealer has any knowledge about how Mike has burned his customers, but anyone interested may want to contact this Dealer to get in touch with Mike. Search "maniord" in the subforum: For Sale: Custom & Semi Production

I paid Mike to make a WSK and he kept giving me excuses for months, promising me I will get the knife. Now he doesn't answer my emails or phone calls. He has pretty much stolen $275 from me.

Wow, havent been on here in a bit, but yeah. Still nothing from Mike. Emails to him keep getting bounced back to me. 300 bucks, just gone. The thing that gets me is, I had one of his karambits, and sold it to pay for the custom karambit....He makes an amazing knife, but man....this is ridiculous. I understand having person crap going on, but that shouldnt affect ones business in the manner that it has in this case.

Gonna chuck in at this point that on my direction a mate of mine ordered a Custom Karambit (wedding present) and a single edged knife with a ring guard aka young guns. $400 was taken up front over a YEAR ago (with the promise the work would be complete in 4 weeks) and 40 emails and promises of a refund later....no dice.

I feel bad for my friend - and worse for the rest of you. This sort of BS in the knife community sucks. There are probably more people than post here that have been ripped off given he was marketing toward military customers and law enforcement toward the end.

So unimpressed. Mike if you read this - and you are not in jail - I hope you realise that you are the sort of person you professed to hate on your own website.
