I emailed him several times after he showed up in this thread. He never replied to any of my emails. His web site is still down. The phone number I have for him is no good. I have tried to just write this off as a loss, but it continues to piss me off. He owes me $400 which includes the cost of a rare piece of steel I sent him. What a terrible human being!

As the title says I too have a similar story to a number of you. Last Year I came across his website and liked the work and made contact with him. When I spoke with him I informed him I wanted a simple Karambit (I had relatively simple specs of 4.5 inch handle and a 3 or 4 inch blade with the inside sharpened and only half the back sharpened). I informed him a Karambit is the only style of knife I can use for self defense anymore as I have had several injuries leaving me with nerve degeneration in both hands and the rest of my collection is worthless to me now. I also inform him that I am extremely limited in my financial situation due to these injuries and after months of budgeting I have 200.00 extra (I didn't do anything fun for a long while).
He informed me he would be more than happy to help me and I would have a new knife to retire my others within three weeks. I pay through paypal as he said he would rather it be that over a check (trying to avoid potential check fraud charges?). I am sent infrequent "updates" continuously postponing the delivery. The original time frame of three weeks turns into six due to an ever devolving story of personal drama. I feel for the guy and try to be accommodating (major error), the saga kept becoming more torrid and by the 33rd exchange I was given the most in depth story of them all and a question, would I like to wait just a few weeks more and receive my long awaited knife or would I like to take a refund he is offering to those that have been effected by his personal issues. I say I wouldn't mind waiting the new deadline (major error # what?) the date comes and goes.
I had to ask for a refund so I can at least get some type of Karambit for self defense (If you follow the news you may have heard of the issues with Florida and people on pain meds being attacked for them). I am ignored I sent a number of polite emails explaining that it took me months to get that much money together with my limited income, and I end up begging multiple times to get the money back or even the knife (as that was what I really wanted/needed). He stops even responding to anything I send. What bothers me is he knew from the very first email I was very limited in my finances and resources. It doesn't seem to have bothered him in the least to steal from someone who clearly couldn't afford the theft ( I still haven't been able to get a replacement as I am even further budgeted).
To those he stole from don't feel bad, it's not your fault if he has little concern for others. Personally I wouldn't change my concern I felt for him even if his excuses were/are untrue and I still wish him the best [ maybe in the hopes he will feel bad and give me my knife??? I mean he did steal from a freaking cripple

Wow, umm...so it has been a couple of years since getting in here, obviously. I never realized Mike responded. In any case, something came up this morning that reminded me of this whole situation...so I came in. I emailed Mike at the email address provided above. Hopefully I will hear something back.
So Mike stole from a disabled, limited income individual who really needed his help for self defense. KristOpher, I had a karambit that matches your description with an added finger ring grip that might work for you. If I can find it I will donate it to you. Best of luck to you sir. Mike, there is nothing lower than a person like you.
So I am very new here, but have had the Mike Maniord experience. It sucks. I feel terrible to tell you this.
So I bought and paid for a Spivey Sabertooth from Mike, and he delivered it. This was long ago, but I'll bet it was yours.... I've since sold it, wish I had it to return to you. This is wrong.
This is beyond messed up. Wow. I still have the emails and pics of it from when he offered it to me. I think I paid him about 150.00.
