Hi im going to get a mike snoday knife when he starts taking new orders again and I would like to know what you guys think about his knives and mike norris stainless damascus.

I have owned a couple of Mike's knives and my wife still has one of his neck knives. I loved mine, but my tastes changed so I sold them. They were exceptionally well made. My wife loves her little knife.

I have never owned a knife with a Mike Norris stainless damascus blade, but I sure do like the look of some of his patterns.

Mike has a store now in Corpus Christi.

Not sure what the name is, but I bet you could get the number pretty easily.

Mike Norris makes some of the nicest damascus I have ever seen, and a lot of it is sandwiched with some very great cutting steel in the middle!!!!

His store is called South Texas Gear and though he isn't taking orders, he does sell his knives at the store.

For users, I suppose they are adequate, albeit, expensive.

Even among the tactical cognoscenti, I don't think that either Blackwood or Snody knives will stand the test of time(over say, 5 years or so).

The internet fueled the demand for their knives. I believe that if Les DeAsis from Benchmade had not made the same mistake AGAIN (Emerson, anyone?) neither of the two would have particularly notable names.

For the money, you are much better off with a Dozier, Mayo, John W. Smith, Terzuola or even a Chris Reeve product. The makers that I just mentioned will hold value more readily and reliably in the long run.

Best Regards

I think he is one of the most ingenious and talented knifemakers today. I love his designs and hope to own one or more of his customs sooner or later.
(But you know the saying: De gustibus non est disputandum.)

If Snody is Mike are you taking orders yet? I sent an email a long time ago about ordering a Hybrid which went unanswered so I gave up. It should say on your website if you aren't taking orders IMHO. Also, after just looking at your site is the Hybrid the same as the Reactor but with a Spyderhole for opening? Both look very nice but I really like that black handled/hardwared Hybrid you have up.

I don't currently have any Snody knives but that will change. I think his blades have an awesome look to them and seem to be suited more than anything else to self protection which I relly like. The Snody Kbit is one of my current dream knives.

Hey mike watch out after that one comment you are sure to fold,:jerkit:

 sar

The Reactor is the same design as the Hybrid, but it's a much larger knife. I have owned, and still own most of them, knives made by everyone Steven mentioned. I feel that I am qualified to debunk a couple of his statements. My Snody folders have always been impressive in terms of value, fit/finish, and real world usability. Mike's knives are certainly a good deal when you actually pay his price for them, but as with many things, supply and demand dictate a higher price on down the line. By the way, both Mike and Neil were more than a little successful when Les signed them on to design for Benchmade. It doesn't make much since to pay for designs from some obscure person no one has ever heard of. Les is trying to sell knives right? AFAIK, he's done very well with both of them.

Thanks for spelling my name right.

If a picture is worth a thousand words why would Snody argue with a Hater.

Submitted for your viewing pleasure. Shop pics and recent knives.

Mike, there may be some people on this forum that gave you a hard time, but you know very well that there was a lot of support as well.
