Anyone want this to be made like I do.? This is my favorite knife but its honestly to big for me. I like my knives between the Delica and dragonfly size. What if they made a mini paramilitary same g10 and lock. Am I giving you a great idea if your reading this Sal?

I'm in for sure! Shorten the grip and blade a 1/4" and it would be perfect for me. It would then be close to the Tenacious though? I'd be happy to buy it even if it was. Better steel and a lock that I like a hell of a lot would be just perfect!

LOL I know that wasn't exactly the question... but looking at the Paramilitary 2, I wouldn't mind an XL version, i.e. same size as the Military. :-)

I agree 100% with this. I also love the PM2 but prefer my knives in the Delica size range. I would definitely buy more than 1 PM2 in this size.

There are already a ton of smaller knives available. The PM2 is just right. But I would also like a 4" blade version.

On the same page as me! I was just thinking I would love a para2 with a 4-1/2 to 5" blade. :D

Kevin from Smockknives had shrunk para 2 once.

It seems to me sir, that your last two sentences contradict each other ;)

I'll buy as many size variations of the PM that Spyderco is willing to make.

I've been thinking that same exact thing. I don't carry a PM2 regularly everyday because of the handle size in pocket. Not that it's horrible by any means! But implementing a similar concept to the successful BM Griptilian and Mini Grip could be VERY lucrative IMO. Same knife proportions and features, just slightly smaller size.

I was thinking the same thing, although they already do this with the Delica and Endura. It might be more expensive with the PM2/Mini PM2 but I am more than willing to plunk down the cash. Hell, I just ordered a Manix 2 yesterday even though I promised myself I'd wait till next month. That's 4 Spyderco knives in one month, I haven't owned one previously. I guess you could say I really like them. I'm hooked, add a smaller PM2 that still has a full grip and I will buy it!

I almost forgot, the mini PM2 is too long of a name. Spyderco likes to use different names, I'd call it the Militia.

I'd be very interested in this smaller blade. It'd be cool if they released a PM3 and a PM3.5 as the next generation. The numbers corresponding to blade length much like the calypso.

Although I do carry a PM2 daily, I still agree with your sentiments above. I have used the Grip / mini Grip correlation before trying to convince Sal to take on this project. I lack any hard information to back it up but I s.uspect that Benchmade sales of the mini Grip far exceed those of it larger counterpart. The fact of the matter is most Americans do not need nor want a folding Bowie in our pocket. I like a 3" or smaller blade for the better control it offers. For those that want a larger PM2; there already is one. Its called the military. The PM2 was made because people requested a smaller Military. It has been rumored for years that the Military will be updated with the compression lock but I suspect with the current sales an update to the design with a more difficult lock to manufacture can not be justified (yet). As for those that say there are enough smaller knives in Spyderco lineup, show me one that is current production, with a compression lock, 50/50 choil with a less than or equal to 3" blade of a PM2 or Delica style blade shape.

The next best thing for now:

Sal has definitely hinted that a Military 2 is coming this year. Since the Paramilitary was introduced as a smaller Military a larger PM just doesn't seem likely.

The Military 2 is to have the multi position clip and other refinements. (I don't see how Spyderco can improve perfect) Is it just me?

I think having a Military, PM2, and a Militia would be awesome. It's a perfect name as a Militia is made up of non-enlisted civilians, the most likely buyers of a knife like this and I've yet to find a single knife with this name. Gadsen Flag or Culpeper Minutemen Flag scales in G-10 would just guzzle the money from my bank account. It's not out of the realm of possibility either as they already do this with their budget folders the Resilience, Tenacious, and Persistence. Those sell like crazy.

My next purchase will be a Military, I've already started looking at prices. Having the other end of the scale (smaller PM2) would complete the set and satisfy my OCD. I will get the Resilience and Persistence after I get the Military, to satisfy my OCD of course! I will probably buy those 3 next month, which after all is fast approaching! In less than a month I've bought 4 Spyderco knives (Delica, Tenacious, PM2, and Manix 2). If they build it we will buy it. At this point they can't take my money fast enough!

P.S.- Making it by next year would be great for the USA's 240th!

I've been saying for months and months I'd like a PM with a 3 inch blade and about a half inch off the ass end. No need for that huge gapper of a lanyard hole either. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my PM, but wish they were within the most comon legalized standard.
