Mini PM2

Mini southard would not work, would need to be a PM2. Southard is a flipper, PM2 has that nice big hole for opening, which is all one needs.

Not sure if I missed something but if you look at the previously linked videos and others by Bower you'll see he does make mini Southards as well as the PM2s.

I am mindful that you guys are talking about the PM2, would a mini southard work?

I'd love to have a mini Southard, but I think Brad Southard would have to design it.

I was saying a mini southard is not something I would want. This is a thread about a smaller PM2 which it appears a lot of guys would like.

Gotcha, I was thrown off there for a sec since you weren't the OP. I wasn't sure if you meant the Mini Southard wouldn't work in terms of being modded from a regular Southard, not that it wouldn't work for your needs specifically.

I know he makes them, but it's probably around twice the price of a Spyderco Southard by the time it's all said and done. I was saying I'd buy a mini Southard if it was designed by Brad Southard and mass produced to bring the price down. If I'm spending ~$500-$600 on a hacked down Southard, I'd rather save up and buy a custom knife from the man himself.

Yeah, cost would be a prohibitive consideration if you are after a mini southard proper.

If a PM2 mini is made, count me in too.
I generally like those around the 3" length.

Thank you. That is what I have been trying to say in a couple of posts in this thread and no one even commented on it.

Yea except that the handle was about 4 ft long with a 3 inch blade. I was shocked at how big that handle was for a smaller size blade. Thats why i got rid of it. Looked goofy and didnt feel good in my hand in my opinion.

Agreed.

My thoughts as well, the blade to handle ratio was way off, Para 2 was a step in the right direction. A Mini Para 2 is definitely possible, I have average size hands and when holding my Para 2 I can see where the design could be adjusted to remove length.

I hear ya and agree. Right now my pockets aren't that deep to afford the knife then the third party custom work. They do look pretty nice though.

Bought my 1st Para 1 because of the people recommending it in this thread. All I can say is the Para 2 is a MUCH more refined knife ergonomicly and a Para 1 does not fit the criteria I am looking for. All I can hope is that we've planted a bug in Sal's ear and he experiments with the idea in the future.

The price really isnt as bad as i thought it would be. If you have a used para2 or southard. I thought it was going to be alot more then it was.
