My sons and I with some speckled trout and redfish we caught from the Brazos river near where we live.

We camped over night along the river. It was great fun.

My daughter just sent me a picture from her new home in Idaho. Her first trout fishing trip with her husband and two young daughters.

Yas! Newly stocked. The tail ends would eventually grow out, but show tatters from abrasions from a feeding tank. In fact, a new stocking was under way while they were fishing. Still, what better way to introduce young kids to fishing than with a near garanteee of a limit of hungry fish!

So looking forward to spring and summer! Months without going fishing will finally be over. Plan on doing a trip to Southern Sweden and fish for pikeperch there, they definitely rank among my favorite fish out there.

Opening day in CT! My little guy had a good time. Rain kept people away and we were hooking up on every cast for a bit with the rooster tail. Good way to start the season for a 7 year old! :) This was his first time catching brookies and he is a little natural science kid- he liked studying the differences between them and the rainbow.

With the Weiner...

This monster was caught up at Gods River, Manitoba, Canada last summer. My job takes me to northern Canada all of the time, so I make sure I always have my rod with me for those times like this, where I get to fish some amazing northern Canada waters. She was 42" and we didn't get a weight unfortunately.

Oh how I can't wait for summer. We still have 3 feet of ice on the lakes, and it is late April. Ok, winter. Please leave.
