Missed out on an AH-1

Somebodies math skills are about as good as their spelling.
A notable H.I. forumite said his mother once told him :
"If you don't like the food on the table, it's easiest not to eat...with your mouth shut".

I love BFc and fixer is a (t)fool.

a padded mailer or cardboard CD mailer is 25¢ or less, probably signifiagnetly less in bulk. first class postage on that is probably 80¢ to $1
and "priority mail" on something you wait weeks to ship is just silly.
and first class mail is hardly the same as throwing it to a rock and throwing it in the general direction. after all, that will get there in the same truck that brings the priority mail.

i expect you're using the USPS mailer boxes because they're 'free" but end up costing each member who elects to take that route several dollars more. sure, it's not even enough to buy a happy meal, but it all adds up.

as far as your claim of "not overselling", i'm sorry, when you don't allow anyone who's not gold or higher to use PM, or sell in the exchange, that's a fairly strong selling point for the membership.

so, it seems to me you've either got poor math skills, poor problem solving skills or just don't give a shit when you're spending other people's money.

like i said before, i was gonna buy the gold membership until i saw the extra charges. yeah, it's only a few bucks more, but i'm a cheap bastard. +4% for paypal is one thing, +20% is too beauceaup.

I'm calling BS on the "I was gonna" malarkey.
Eleven years, and fixer suddenly does an about face for a ~$20 item?
Somewhere, a penny is screaming because fixer squeezed it until it broke.
If I was that tight, I'd look into one of Flexxx's extra-large custom appendages to try and loosen things up. :D

Thanks fixer, for the extra six months! Your cheapness saved me $15, and I got an ESEE arrowhead for only $8. Try finding that deal (with shipping) online! :p

Seems like someone doesn't even want their free mambership anymore...
Went right past mod sass to owner sass.

Cliff Stamp bit it for something similar.
Frankly though, I think fixer should stick around with his new custom title.
He didn't even have to pay for it.

People just don't think about other folks' time as valuable.
I recently got a sheath from Beth and Charlie at Lost Mountain Iron Works.
When I first saw the $12 shipping charge, I thought "damn, that's high for a sheath."

But then I really thought about it.
It's only a two-person outfit, and they have to purchase their boxes to fit product line, get suitable packing materials, take time to box everything up, and then haul it down to the PO.
That's overhead and time, not to mention the fact that Beth and Charle are starting their business from scratch and have to be careful with their outlay.
They also purchased delivery confirmation, and the postage on the box was $6.90.
That means I paid about $5 (a bit less when you take out PayPal fees) for all of the above.

If I had balked on a silly $4 or $5, I would have missed out on one helluva sheath.

actually, it's only about 18 months of actual use. 3 or 4 at the beginning to try and resolve a problem with a manufacturer, and a year or so recently with a long dry spell in the middle.

I would like to personally thank you. I have extended my membership thanks to you and Spark. Cost me $58 bux, but I get WAY more than that out of the knowledge in this forum. ( Not to mention forum exclusive deals that come around now and then) You are just frosting on the top for entertainment value for as long as you might last.
I am now considering purchasing some fine looking ESEE knives, because I just never get to this particular forum, and to be honest, I am just a bit ignorant on ESEE.

The solution fixer is this...Log out and walk away from the computer.

Well I sure am glad you know exactly what we do for shipping. Oh wait, you are dead wrong again. We don't use USPS boxes. USPS doesn't supply the packing material, or the labor. And as said before, If you don't like the price of the features you get, don't buy the membership.

Here fixer, take another 9.5 years before you post again. Maybe then you can work on your problem solving skills, math skills and people skills when you are using the website paid for with other people's money (mine). In the meantime, get lost.

Thanks to fixer I upgraded.

And even though I missed out on extending the membership for an extra six months, that doesn't mean that I can't do a little butt kissing. Check out my brand new custom title.

Just another update to this. All the US arrowheads have gone out. Paypal money requests have gone out for international ones; USPS international shipping is working out to around $28 or so per package depending on where it's going. :(

I received my shipping notice the other day. It should be here anytime now. Regardless of the cost, it was a nice incentive for renewing, even though I would have any way. Bladeforums is full of so much information and resources, it's crazy not to support it.

Spark and ESEE, thank you for the added gift.

Wooohooooo, seems like I'm living at the other end of the world :D

Thanks for the service Mr. Spark. Now I am waiting for the package to arrive

Thanks for the extension Spark. You're a man of your word.:cool:
