Bringing this back from page 2 with some Box Elders:

Nice Lisa! You motivated me to take a group picture even though 3 of my Mnandi's are being held hostage in Idaho :)

Franz, what's the third one? If you decide to sell it, please let me know.

It's box elder burl just like the 2nd one, but with reds and a beautiful black vein. I have already had several people call dibs but it's not going anywhere soon.

Finally decided to buy a light box and a lighting kit .... seeing as winter is approaching and taking indoor pics will be more challenging for me with my limited skills. Anyway ..... HATE it. Actually, the learning curve determining corrections to white balance and getting the lighting to illuminate exactly what I want it to illuminate is proving to be quite time consuming for me! Anyway, was doing some testing today and decided to try a group shot of my Mnandis, since I only have 5. Figured it would be easier to get this small grouping positioned well enough to take a half decent photo. Since I had the pic, decided I would add it to the thread. (I did find out that taking pics of single items in the box is significantly easier than multiple items .... did a pic of a newly acquired Kirby Lambert Sniper that came out rather well). Anyway .... my Mnandis (and still waiting for my Snakewood to be finished!!!)

Dennis, another excellent picture of your collection. The mammoth bark with raindrop in the middle is my favorite.

Oops, I did it again.....

I was trying to resist, especially since I just bought a tanto Seb earlier today, but that pronounced grain got me.......

This FANTASTIC pic shows exactly why I love natural handle materials. Look at the variety, and it's all the same wood. no two pieces look exactly the same.

Nice picture Franz!

Kind regards,

Jos

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! :D

Congratulations man, nice Bocote on that one!

Kind regards,

Jos

Hahahahahahaha, that was exactly how I titled the PM to the seller earlier today. :D

And thank you, it's going to be my third Bocote. I just got a lefty bocote in the mail yesterday.

All of my Mnandis as of today, with another coming. I've spent too much lately, need to ban myself.

WOW, there are some super-nice Mnandi in here - thanks to all for sharing them.:thumbup:

My first mnandi. Love the size and the mammoth. Now if I can just figure out how to open this beauty one-handed.

held the new one at a fair on saturday, it's harder to open as there is no biting edge in the thumb groove but it's rather rounded

dw, was yours born on July 30? I bet it's from the same tusk as mine, it is super nice, way better than the seller had pictured. Mine came from the same retailer though he never took a picture of it :)

Birthday for mine was Aug 22, so maybe from the same tusk.
