Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Big_E is a sly one, I bet he's got something really special and I'm looking forward to him sharing it with us:thumbup:

It's true....I am the first to post a picture of a walnut Mnandi (on this thread that is).

In all serious it's one of my favs....if not, my favorite Mnandi. In addition to it being a beautiful example of walnut. My lovely girlfriend gave it to me for Christmas.

Lol..Um...not sure what to say?

I kept thinking it was some exotic Damascus with like t-Rex bone inlay or something.

Still cool...never knew they had "walnut"?

Your such a Ham Big_E, love that Mnandi though. What are the colors that I see in the scales?

After seeing a years worth of photos on this thread. It dawned on me that no one ever posted a photo of their walnut Mnandi, nor do I recall seeing any walnuts in group shots. I think it's an underrated wood (on a Mnandi). And, given the fact that it's no longer offered, and there were far fewer of the walnut made than Mammoth. I'd say that makes this a pretty rare knife.

It's a medium brown with dark grain and lighter tan highlights. It's warm in appearance, and one of the better feeling Mnandi's I own. At some point I'm going to send it in for a Raindrop or Ladder blade. I'll put it up for a vote and the viewers can decide what blade it gets.

That is definitely a very unique walnut scale (and I've seen more than a few), is there any chance you can take a better picture of the scale?

Big_E I'm digging that Walnut!
Tho I find the impaled ham a bit over the top. Ya know?
You've gotten dangerous with the camera brother!
Feels like every day you've got another Mnandi pic up on this lovely, tantalizing, beautiful thread.

Cheers

So they will exchange blades? How can you find out what kinds of damascus they offer, or is it the normal Raindrop and Ladder?

Locutus

It sounds like a few fellow BF members have had success in getting CRK to source a new Damascus blade for their knives.
Devin is only producing Raindrop and Ladder at this time for CRK the wait for Damascus is 9 months
