Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Every time you post a picture of your Mammoth Bark it gets better and better looking. I bet in person that Bark is Amazing to hold in the hand, those greens, browns, dark browns and yellow colors mixed in with a touch of what looks like black are just WOW. It's pretty rare to get so many different colors in Mammoth Bark, Congrats Once Again on an Exceptional Score. I'm looking forward to you posting pictures of your latest Honduran Rosewood Mnandi and Thanks for sharing J.

Happy first anniversary to the Mnandi Obsession thread!
The thread that launched a thousand purchases!
Including the three below

Thank you brother!
It's my favorite blade and spends a lot of time in my hand.
Also thank you for creating the thread that brought me into the world of Mnandi

Cheers

Nice ganagati, some very rare pieces you have there brother. I especially like the wood in the middle one, makes me feel I'm about to step into another dimension, very very nice. The decorated pin (love it) and the numbered BG-42 (very jealous) are Incredible Scores, Congrats bro and Thank You for Sharing.

What's the numbered one on the bottom?

The initial run of 200 were numbered, and as Dinokay mentioned above, have BG-42 blades. The majority have Ziricote inlays and I believe this is what ganagati has.
I have #33 myself and it is my smoothest Mnandi.

That is indeed the one I've got and I too find it to be the smoothest of the mnandi's I've handled. Not only that, but it also springs into the locked position in a way that the others don't and in general seems to have a bit more heft to it. I'd be curious to hear if others have noticed those traits as well.

All this congratulating one another encourages the behavior and exacerbates the problem...and that said - awesome set, Lisa!

What do you expect ...... EVERYONE here is an enabler! And I'm mighty glad of that!!!!

LOL Dennis, isn't that the truth!

Lisa, I think your newest catch is the coolest of that bunch, wow!

I still have a very soft spot for my mammoth, my very first "keeper" :o

Missed posting yesterday - bad weather here so not able to take pictures outside... Great looking Mnandi everyone!!

Just received this one, have not decided if I will keep it yet...

Really like the backside:

Here is another I recently picked up from one of our own. My first with cream color...

This is a case of dealer's photos not always telling the whole story. I've had knives I loved in photos but didn't care for in person. There are also ones I was on the fence about in photos then LOVED in person. This particular one sat on a dealers site for over two months without a sniff. I decided to take a chance and it paid off. One of my faves of all time. The blade is very dark, great contrast against the orange / caramel scale. Truly one of my faves.

I didn't put much effort into this photo...but it shows the color spot on.
