Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Beautiful. And, at that hour of the morning ..... doing anything ..... any way but slowly .... would be an understatement!

Gorgeous cocobolo LW ... unusual grain pattern! Congrats!

Alawys one of my favorite inlays ... so rich and red!

Thanks, friends! This one does have some memorable grain. I've had 3 Cocobolos before, always let them sly through my hands. Think this one will be here to stay, though. I'm kind of wishing I hadn't sold my lefty, I'd have 3 matched pairs now.

Nope. The new family member is not particularly exotic or hard to get. I was just waiting for a specific grain pattern and just found it (it took a long while to show up though). I better not build it up too much, otherwise it is going to be anticlimactic.

Right ... Golden Bocote Bee is finally here ... I don't have my camera gear with me so I will have to do with an 8 year old Canon Powershot. I couldn't quite capture the colors ... it is more yellow / golden in real life ... almost like a bumblebee ... I've looked for this particular combination of color and grain for a long time.

I am not sure we are allowed to mention dealers, but the one I got it from was completely off my radar and they were awesome. Not only do they list individual numbered pictures for each variation they have, I called them and they were happy to email me additional pictures of the one I wanted.

Without further ado, here she is. Exactly what I wanted (forgot to wipe that blade):

And with my only other Mnandi as I just sold the Mammoth ...

I've never even noticed Bocote before, now with these new golden grains, I'm liking it a lot. Congrats masterserg, beautiful piece you have there.

Super, Serg ..... there seems to be some very nice (differently nice) Bocotes coming out of CRK lately. I wonder if they changed suppliers or just luck of the draw with the stock they have been getting. I know that in the case of some of the newer Snakewoods ..... it's all thanks to the supplier. I had a couple discussions with the guy who was supplying CRK with Snakewood (within the last year or so) and he was giving them the best of what he had ... that really well-figured stuff. Here's a pic of some of the stock he was sending Chris. Then mid-last year, he decided it was time for him to finally get his own Sebenza (he had never owned one). Anyway, Chris sent him one in exchange for more Snakewood stock. What did he get .....? One of the Spirographs right after they were no longer offered as an option!

Nice info. I recently got my Snakewood Mnandi in the picture above and the grain is definitely special, almost zebra like and much better than what I am used to see.

What a nice Valentine's day surprise, Congratulations Lisa. I'd prefer a mnandi over flowers or chocolate any day of the week myself. Love this side (it's beautiful) but the clip side (awesomeness) is the one that does it for me any chance you can shot the clip side?

That is a beautiful Valentines gift in my book, even though to my girlfriend , I might have well bought her a vacuum if I had presented her with that knife.....enjoy!

Thanks all for the comments.
I'll post a photo of the back in the morning, it's a bit subdued compared to the front.

Lisa, it's beautiful!!!

I noticed today the River of Fire has a gold tone spacer and a really nice pattern on the spine.
I couldn't help sharing a couple new pictures :o

The river pattern on that blade is perfection Franz! It looks like a dragon and I love the way it explodes towards the tip. I never bonded with my RoF because the pattern looked more stretched.
