Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

What's the birthdate on that Bocote? I wonder if it was from the same batch as the one I'm waiting for from you. Your's are beautiful, BTW!

The birthdate of this one is 3/30/07 and the birthdate of the one you have incoming is 6/29/12.

Not likely to be from the same batch, but they have very similar grain. Unusual grain, too.

They do have a very similar appearance and look like they could have been from the same batch. Doubtful based on the age difference though.
Hopefully you will recieve yours today.

I am ashamed for all of us, this thread slipped to pg 3 today. :o In order to rectify this I am announcing #8, Vines & Roses is now in my sweaty palms, News (family photos) at 5.

My one and only Vines & Roses with friends, looking forward to seeing your latest score Franz.

Super! Her twin sister can sleep well tonight knowing that her sibling has been adopted into a loving home!!

Awesome Score, that one has eluded me for awhile now, one day. I'm Loving your Collection a lot Franz.

My second Mnandi (purchased from Maprik) arrived today...so I guess I am officially a "collector" now. It is a dark green Lignum Vitae and I am really thrilled with it. It is so hard to capture this knife in pics, but here is my best attempt. In person, it has the most beautiful green cast to it and I think it is a perfect compliment to my Honduran Rosewood. Enjoy the pics!

Love them both. You know, however, once you start down that path ...... there is NO turning back!!!!

I miss my mnandi, I have owned 7 or 8 of them I think at various points, but am currently mnandi-less.

Those are both really nice woods, and Maprik is super cool to deal with, congratulations!

Thanks, guys! I am really thrilled with the new LV...and yes, Maprik is the best; smoothest transaction I have been involved in and the knife was better than described :)

I really like how you've taken the clips off your Mnandis! I'm going to do that too since I always carry mine in the pouch. Only 2 left :(. The price you pay for a fishtank....
