Model ID help

Yeah, can be a YUGE undertaking!!!

I’m pretty sure that first one is a BAD Warden. And oh man I’d love to have one!!! :D Pricing on that isn’t going to be easy, they don’t come up very often.

Not 100% sure on the second one, so I’m not going to guess right now, but I think you’re right.

ETA- You don’t generally get your money back on sheaths (~60-75% if you’re lucky), but they do sweeten the deal. Lefty sheaths might be worth selling separately, except on more rare models like that BAD Warden. HTH.

ETA2- I have it on good authority that the BAD can bring $450 pretty easily if in good condition with a sheath! Ack! Outta my league, lol!

Thank you very much Spyder, it does indeed seem to be a bad warden. I don't know what these sheaths would cost new, therefore not sure how much to ask for them used? $40-50? More? Less?

I believe I covered the SJTAC in an earlier post...that's "Satin Jack TACtical (TAC designates the style of handle, & version of model)", it is a variant known as a Muddy SJTAC, the variance here is the serrated swedge and the combo of Tigerhide micarta offered on muddy brown, which isn't common. Pretty sure they were sold at Blade West in 2006? Sheath might've been around 75ish when purchased new.

That other is definitely a Bad Warden, combo looks giraffe bone & wood inserts. Def not very common.

If more people would only leave the dang sales prices in the threads... (we can all thank LK for starting that inane practice , but I digress.)

I really wish they would change the forum rules on that. Why remove the price? As you stated true value is what someone is willing to pay, so leave the sold prices up so everyone can see what knives have sold for, and thus what they are truly worth.

Indeed you did, just wanted to double check I had the right one correctly identified...thanks again!

As much as I appreciate everyone's emails, PMs, messages, etc, I just don't have time right now to wade through all of them to determine who contacted me first with interest about a particular model. I will post here in this thread first beforehand with a heads-up before listing on the exchange so that you will all be notified. I plan to offer the Bad Warden first, and hopefully will get it up this weekend.

Thanks again for all the help, interest, and advice

Hi guys, I have been lurking and talking with a few members on and off since September. My dad was sharpetoys and he was very active around here in 2004-2005 but then got sick. He passed away last year and I inherited a vast and diverse collection of knives, some I am still trying to figure out what they even are. The Busse’s were easy to identify- not sure about sheaths, there is a box of those too along with some kind animal skin sheet. I guess he planned on making some custom sheaths? Lol I was reading this thread and I instantly felt like you all truly appreciate Busse’s, especially the older models. The time has come for me to let go, I have been holding on for sentimental reasons. I want whoever does get my dads knives to be members here and love them as much as he did. I thought about selling on ebay and thru consignment but my dad would never do that. He loved the forums and chatting with all of you. I am no hurry to sell but ready to sell. I need some help though as I have some rarer ones too. They Are all 2004 or older. I have identified them with help () but value is the issue. Since they are rarer, its hard to find history on some. Garth has helped a little but i dont want to keep pestering him so thought with all the knowledge in this thread, you guys could help before I post on exchange.

All have never been used just displayed. Do you guys know what sheaths I should be looking for? Pics would help.
This is a tad overwhelming as he has so much stuff. I am trying to do this the right way and that is why I havent asked for help publicly before.

Your quest deserves it's own thread. Since you are Gold level, you can ask for help and values. Be prepared for low ball offers even before you list anything.

Agreed. Sharpetoys start your own thread. List knives with pics and I’m sure hogs will start throwing numbers at ya. You get lowball numbers from guys who want them , and high prices from those who have them I. Their collections already . Go somewhere in between ;). If not , list them, aim high and let the offers come to you. Good luck.

Hey Sharptoys, Sorry to hear about that. I did not know our father, as I started a bit later, but I'm sure some hogs here will remember.

Definitely this deserves it's own thread take a look at this.

and this.

http://www.badmojo.net/zero-tolerance.html

My understanding is that the Zero Tolerance line was a limited release sub group of models that were slightly thiner than the general release and are a bit more rare. Beautiful knives they are.

Good luck. I'm sure someone would want the whole set. (This guy)!! but Bullpin is right. Make a thread, take a reading of the cost, then put them on the exchange so everyone has a chance, don't rush, and one of the hogs here will offer a fair price.

Also, don't worry about the sheaths. If there is something that fits them in the box, great, but most of the knives we buy here don't come with a sheath in the first place.

Thank you guys, I will clean the blades as suggested and take better pics and post my own thread.I have so many one offs too meaning he has one of this kind and one if that kind. But I lnow my dad and he dudnt buy anything uless it was uniwue, valuable or had story or meaning behind it.

I advise against cleaning them. If they are unused then they aren't dirty. Let the buyer choose. Some pay more for patina, and some cleaning effort can lower value.

Santa's Outlaw Wicked-purchased new and has never been used

Fusion Battle Mistress (CGFBM?). Black G10? Measures about .280 thick. Rainwalker sheath(?). I purchased this second hand from the exchange but haven't used it. Don't recall if original owner advertised it as new or lightly used?

Thanks!

One of those SOw’s just sold in the 350-400 range (I think) . Recent posting.
It was never used just had a smudge/Mark /Pitt or something on the blade. Thought that was great price. I would say 500ish is fair.

The cgfbm (looks like canvas) is anyone’s guess. Could go 600 -750 or some Chinese dealer could give 1200 for it as well. One never knows. Good luck.
