Modern Traditionals....;)

Thanks. Somebody said they made 50 of these. I think they need to make more,

Shoot Mike a Email at Collectors Knives and I’m sure he’ll get right back to you with a update . He’s really good with replies and his customer service if first class
I asked and he said he didn't know.

CK sent me my early reserve notice that the SHUFFLERS were in and my order has been placed. Very excited about this one in OD green G10. This will be a good month for traditional knifes, modern or not.

Same here. Just paid for the random CF I've had on reserve for a while.

Posted this on the LockBack Thread but it is appropriate here too - the highly excellent MOKI!!!
As fine a knife as I have ever handled

From a vendor's web site "Moki produces some absolutely gorgeous knives. They are all hand made in Japan from excellent materials and with a very high level of skilled craftsmanship. These knives are highly polished to a flawless finish..."

I completely agree.

That is very nice, Ray!

I have one Moki and I agree with that statement too.

I wet molded the TOPS sheath for this Lionsteel. This is the Big Opera with stag covers, a lockback. Very well made knife with smooth action and solid lock.

Looks like the Al Mar Eagle classic, one of my grail knives if I ever have the money to buy one.

I have a random cf as well on the new shuffler. As well I have a bone micarta, which I am really interested to see what it looks like in person.

I just wish there were more Blonde Ram's Horn LS in Spear knocking about

Didn't fancy them much at first but that's changed big style :D:thumbsup:

Ironwood!? I thought they only came in cocobolo, green micarta, and stag?

JTB, they indeed also make them in ironwood. Here's the manifacturers link: https://www.fallkniven.com/en/knife/gpdi/
[Mods, please remove if this is some kind of violation of forum rules]

In addition to cocobolo, micarta, stag, and ironwood they also do the GP in jigged bone now, so there's lots of flavors to choose from. I debated whether the extra premium that the ironwood commands over cocobolo is worth it, and in the end decided that it is for me - I just love the look and feel of ironwood!

Wow, that’s cool. Thanks

Boker Slack slippie. G10 covers and VG10 blade in hand it feels really similar to a GEC 72.

How do you feel about this knife, pro's and con's? I have been thinking to get the cocobolo version, allthough the G-10 might be more durable. The stiff spring has been mentioned, personally I think I might like that but opinions vary.

Just to mention the maker´s side: Raphael Durand, the French custom knifemaker who made that design, is using the stronger spring, which is kind of his trademark.

I personally like the very positive response and the feeling when opening/closing the blade, but of course, personal taste and preferences may vary. ;-)

It was a really high quality knife. Solid vg10 heat treat, good feel in hand just like any folding hunter style knife and blade shape
I really enjoy the stiff spring too as it made me feel secure in the knife not closing on a finger.

The two cons and one isn't really a con is that the hard detent might make some ppl nervous when closing it but it has a strong half stop as well.

And the second is I carry both moderns and usually 3.5" or smaller traditionals. I stopped carrying the GEC72 for the same reason as it made for a great work knife just not a regular edc for around the city which is where I am most of the time.

This one confused me as it was too big to carry for my normal traditional carry and it lacked the one hand operation and pocket clip of a modern. If you can not be bothered by that it's a lovely knife.

Only other caveat is I've had a few cocobolo Bokers and did not like their wood handles. But that could be a personal preference again.
