Modified Busse pic and discussion thread

I love this thread already and wish i had something to contribute. Could you share what you use to set the copper/brass tubes? I was thinking of picking up a cheap arbor press and dye kit this weekend to start practicing....

Some great lookin mods guys keep em coming!

Here's my most recent mod. I stripped it, smoothed and contorted the handles and modified the swedge by pulling it back a little bit:

So I know Lance23 sais he used a Work Sharp Ken Onion edition Grinder to mod his blade, what did you guys use to mod all of yours.

I plan on modding one of my Battle Grades when I get it

I use a Kalamazoo 1x42 belt sander. I have the horizontal finishing attachment that I don't use horizontally :D

I have a 4" pvc pipe right below it full of water, to keep things nice and cool. And 14,639 belts. Can't forget my belt buying problem either.

I bought the flaring dies from here, and just made a set of jaws for my vice to hold them in line. I didn't see the need for the arbor press for the few sets of handles I do.

Here's my meaner I did a little grinding on. Made the handle more of a game warden handle and lost the talon hole. More comfy to me,,, :)

An oldie but a goodie--after I stripped it, custom shop did mine, I believe ground by Garth, re-sharpened with better geometry by Beef:

Here are a couple tiny projects that went fairly well. The first is a Desert Battle Mistress Ergo ZT. I decided that I liked the Ergo Badger SOOOO much, that I'd grind the butt off of this mistress. She took a bite as you all can plainly see. Also stripped the coating like on all my blades.

Second up is a SteelHeart Ergo that I stripped, cleaned up the factory edge (Jerry MUST have been drunk...) And polished before giving it the Badger Butt Mod. One of my favorite blades that I hope to have home again real soon....

Lastly, my SAR 8. The wooden scales swelled and shrank so much I decided to just pry em off. I had big plans.... In the meantime, orange cord works.

BMe ZT Desert

SteelHeart Ergo user, chopped the butt off of this one too.

SAR 8

And it's pretty edge after touch up.

Family pic plus one, you can see how the handles mimic the SAR quite closely, in size at least.

My newest. Hot off the grinder last night. Meet the Basicwaiken.

I took my shortened B11 and had a little fun with it. I've really been liking all the kwaiken style knives that are popping up around the custom forum.

Wow you guys do some great work. I am just learning on grind some blades out of 1095. I absolutely love it. It is the best therapy I have ever had. Had not gotten the guts to cut into a Busse yet. I want to get my skill set level higher before voiding any warranties lol.
