In my experience, the decarb on SR can be a little tougher to remove, but the steel strips great and can be finished awesomely.

If I could find a way to get a full set of kitchen cutlery made from this stuff I would be happy to oil every spoon after use of need be, just so my knives were as sharp as can be👍🏽

The 'hump' on the butt of the Hellrazor kept poking my ribs... so it went away.

Modded this SAR5 fairly heavily. The handle was always kinda like a hammer handle to me... so I ground it down a bit. Way comfy now.

Lastly my most used knife... meaner. Like the hellrazor the goofy flange on the butt was a constant annoyance. So it went away. Now its more of a Meaner-Duty. Bought it in 2007 and it's been bloody ever since.

It's a great knife. I sold it a while back because it wasn't getting carried anymore. Very light in the hand surprisingly. Also very balanced. Cool blade for sure.

that looks great. I'd been thinking after the most recent offerings that the HR should get an ergo version. what you have is close just needs a bit of the curve.

Haha. No. Hockey tape and inner tube. It's awesome. My KZII is a chunk of hockey tape full of steel too. Man. I might just tape up all my users. It's THAT comfy. Like homemade res c

Gonna have a custom maker rehandle it once I figure out what direction I want to go with it. Can't decide if I want to go natural materials or something like Burlap Micarta, Thunderstorm Kevlar or Bone Linen Micarta.

The mutilating and mistreating of many of your blades Tim has often brought a tear to my eye. Hockey tape on a $700-1000 f@cking knife!, grinding steel off to no ends, why Dan, why? Are you crazy? Oh ya, I forgot.

I could mod the sh!+ out of SOME, SOME Sykcos and rats, if felt the need, but a beautiful killa like that, no way.

Why not just wrap tape or rubber around the scales with them still on? I just don't understand timmy.

There are onlh so many of them out there, it's like some crazy rich dude burning Picasso's or something just for fun, I don't get it. But, to each there own. And apologize for ranting, that zilla now does look like Casey Jones owned it so can't completely hate it.

I didn't like the tequila sunrise scales, g10 is heavy, I got it for a steal of a price, and I'm a bit nutty. oh! Forgot. Boredom. Haha! If you handled it for a bit you'd never go back.

ETA: I did try to give it some class with "proper" handles. A lack of a drill press along with space for said drill press and other needed tools is to blame for my failure. Once I get some more room to work and proper tooling I'll probably just leve it the way it is Cuz it's friggin awesome.

If thinking of tossing those scales please let me knkw and will repurpose them. Would use pieces of them together with some other funky material for a Busse boot dagger I got.

Nice! I did the same to mine but added some jimping to the spine. I don't have after pics but you can see the marks in the second pic below.
