Modified Production Knives (traditional only)

Hi there, some nice work in this thread - here's a good ol TL-29 I spruced up a bit, -don't look too close it was my first one I finished :)

Love this!
Weird, good weird, to see the venerable old tl29 in such slimline and classy chassis;)
The blade shape and steel used tick the box for me and BTW, super work for any time let alone first time.
How did you inlay the sheild? I have only done basic shape inlays but would like a challenge.
The Bradford is a favorite of mine.

Very nice indeed, love the (maple burl?) covers.
Also, delicious large lump of honeycomb there, do you keep bees?!

Masur birch actually, one of my favorite materials.
It's a top-bar hive there's 5 combs there @ about 20lb total and I think that's 20-25% of what the hive produced (left the rest for the bees).

Very pleased to be able to unveil/unleash the latest examples of artisan skill from the J jsdistin stable. Some while ago I sent Jeff some wood for this re-handling project on a 71 Bullnose and a 13 Clerk, both of which were in Muslin Micarta. His work has more than exceeded my expectations and I'm so pleased with the knives. I chose an unusual wood, English Yew for the Bullnose and it's just beyond beautiful. WHY GEC hasn't made any wood scaled versions of this popular work knife is beyond me. For the Clerk I opted for Olive Wood and this too is a triumph. Moreover, Jeff inlet this complex shield and Rat-Tails. If you carry out the blind man's test- run your fingers over the scales, it's like glass, you CANNOT feel the pin or shield inlet/transitions. Some Custom makers could take a lesson here... The Clerk is likely complex to re-assemble as it's a long Wharncliffe and Pen on the same spring. No rub here and good snap.

My sincere regards to Jeff, his work is at the highest level.

great work, r8shell r8shell . I had eyeballed that particular pattern and liked that there was enough room to knock the point off the pen blade
That was the obviously correct thing to do.

that is the best mod ive seen done to it so far. some one turned their pony jack pen into a screw driver... still waiting for blade deletes!
