  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Modified Production Knives (traditional only)

Buck 309 changed to Axis deer stag

I laugh when I handle this one, Imperial (Ireland) stockman, 10 dollar knife with a 50 dollar scale. Actually, I call it my glue test knife.

303 with real ivory. Don't fret it was a recycled 'old' 45 auto grip panel.

303 with stablized burlwood scale. I am hiding the tiny sanding nic I put on one spring.

Lastly a fake modification. I made a jigged bone Buck using photo trickery, pushing a Buck factory icon to make a jigged bone scale stockman. Alas, it has not worked to date......if it had been real I would have EDC'd it.

Man those ivory covers are stunners!

This is one I did a while ago but there was some grinding on the main blade and spring, I sanded and polished both but the grinding came back almost immediately I worked on it while it was together and was able to get everything smooth but it lost the satisfying click. I used it on and off for a long time but that always bugged me there were some other minor things that I would have done differently but didn’t want to take it apart because the covers were so nice. I finally took it apart and used a file guide to flatten and smooth the blade tang switched out the pins from nickel silver to brass and redid the swedge on the main blade and freshened everything up. I’ve been using it for over a week and the grinding is still absent and it clicks at half stop opening and closing.
