Glad you like it! I have always enjoyed the 1245, but I think the 1266 takes it a step further.

I just got the 1266 and It’s great! How do you think the 1266 “takes it a step further”? Im asking because I have the 1245 as well(also great) and I notice the different “personalities” of both knives.

By all means grab one and have a go at making something special.
One thing I like about Ka-Bars is they are relatively cheap, plentiful, decent time proven designs/steel, and open to customization very easily.

This one was made for a young lady for her 18th Birthday.
Bit tricky as her hands are smaller than mine (hence the concave handle); and the wider tang made for very little wiggle room.
Point of balance is slightly forward of the guard, blade is friction fitted to wood scabbard only at the tip to stop accidental unsheathing.

Needless to say she absolutely loved it, and yes, she used it to cut her cake!
One-of-a-kind would be an understatement to say the least
