Modified Wharncliff Sebenza Project

What was his reply exactly? Thats to bad it wasn't a instant success.
As it's a private mail I can't copy it here but in short everything was quite in my last post, to do this they must do a "complete redesign of the mechanics of the Sebenza", wich I dont understand because I designed it specially so only the blade was to change... everything else stay the same.

Maybe a custom maker could make a warnie blade to fit an existing sebbie frame?

I already talked about this, if it was only that, I could do it myself :)

No, what I want is a Wharncliff Sebenza, full sebenza :D

Perhaps there is one already in the works at the Chris Reeve house and they're trying to be nice about it.
 :)

I think it was apolite way of saying "No, sorry" Also, if they do make a design somebody else gave them are their royalties to the designer?

I've always been a champion for the wharncliffish blade shape Sebenza

Here is an old thread that speaks about that Wharncliff blade

There was also an action video clip by Armsraised but is now lost amidst
the ether, but he had taken the handle of a Sebenza and the blade from
the Mike Irie and merged the two and showed the blade inside the handle
with it being x-rayed so you can see the knife beneath the outer scale.

Very cool work, it may still be around some where?

But I've not had much success in these endeavours, I truly hope that yours
goes through! As then I'd have one in my collection :)

edited to show one of my fav wharncliff blades made by WhiteWing, a Bailey Bradshaw company
that is now defunct unfortuantely :(
This model was called Warlock and this one had mammoth ivory scales.

Barry, that might be the perfect knife, in my opinion. Who did the blade?

Reese Weiland did the blade for me a couple of years ago. I sculpted the handles myself and had it heat anodized by a friend out in Vegas.

Yep, someone showed me the pictures when I was speaking about Wharncliff sebenza, it's a cool knife indeed but I do prefer a curve than an angle on the back :)

That knife is friggin OUT OF CONTROL COOL!!!!! Barry H, Great taste all the way.

Oufti's version of the Sebenza rocks!!!

That is such a simple idea, as simple as it's great, and I really don't understand why it is so hard for CR to make these in serial.

This kind of sebenza is not made to replace the original ones, which are, everybody is OK with that, irreplaceable, but only to complete the wonderfull CR family in the pure tradition of it (because of the so little changes of design that it would need)...and I'd really have the use of this Seby...

If CR changes his mind, I surely am on board!

I, myself, carry a BG42 small sebbie. Is there a CRK knife that was produced in collaboration with another person aside from Mr. Reeves? Are they all his designs? Maybe he only makes what he designs, nothing personal. I also would like this wharncliff!!

This is an old thread. I think the only way for this design to materialize is to do what CRK does for the NICA folders. Order a limited amount, say 300 pieces guarranteed. Now, do we have 300 buyers??
