The kydex panel needs some work yet. I think I might go with flat straps instead of the fold over style thats on there now, it feels a little loose on the belt this way. The front is left open for any panel to be mounted. I'm going to build another altoids tin and firesteel loop panel in a horizontal fashion that would be specific for the this style of carry.

I'd also like to mention that this is the same platform as a left or right handed sheath. So say this was a right handed vertical sheath before, you would simply flip the sheath over and attach the horizontal panel, and reattach the retention snap button to the opposite side.

Lookin good bro!!

Side note; the 10 is about 1/2" longer than the 2 also.

order placed today for sheath and pouch! thanks for answering all of my questions Goose.... Look forward to doing more business with you.

Bump!

With the new future Beckerheads visiting the forum lately, I'm giving this thread a bump so you guys can check out this sheath system.

There will be some new components coming in June, including the Scout carry panel, and the MOLLE panel. This sheath system was designed with your guys input, so if there are more accesories you'd like to see, speak up.

If you guys have any more questions, feel free to ask!

I'm really looking forward to ordering one of these for my 2 this summer! Great product. Hands down the best sheath system for this knife.

Hey goose, just noticed you're in MN! I'm in mpls, where abouts in central MN?

I am in Delano, so about 45 mins west of the Minneapolis. However, I am moving to Duluth in June. Quite a bit more outdoors to choose from out there ;)

That's not far from me, shoot me your contact info I would love to see your work in person(and then I won't have to pay shipping :) )

Just read through the whole thread. This is one of the few leather designs that makes me really want to consider getting a leather sheath. I am usually a kydex guy, but this is really something else. Have you done any testing for wear and tear on the leather from the screw inserts? I'm wondering how much pressure it would take to rip one of those bad boys clean out of the sheath. I'm the type of guy who breaks every single plastic belt clip I ever buy because I snag it on something.

I'm bumping this because we have a ton of new people around that may not have any clue about it, and it still stands as one of the coolest ideas I have ever seen. I know first hand that Goose does amazing work. Read the entire thread, it's worth it.

Absolutely awesome and very innovative work my friend, outstanding!

I have a question though, where do you procure your hardware (snaps, rings, screws and the like)? Love the finish your hardware has.

Great thanks Derek....

I'm embarrassed for having posted my first attempt at a sheath after seeing this art work!

I get my snaps and D-rings from Ohio Travel Bag. They do have a minimum order though. I get my machine screws from McMaster.

Don't be. Nobody starts with a 5-star product. Even long time makers can't approach the level of work shown by goose. Just keep hacking at it if you like to do it.
