Monster Chopper that I can take to Hell and Back Knife

Another good chopper for the hell and back scenario is the Svord Von Tempsky Bowie.11" of L6 steel equates to some bada$$ery. You can find them for under $200.For a handmade Bowie that aint too shabby.

I have an old kuk with a blade that clocks in at almost 11 inches. It used to be 11.5 inches but I've worn/sharpened that much steel away over the years. It is almost a half of an inch thick and ready for just about anything. This kuk is not from HI or NKH. The other knife that is almost bomb-proof would be my USMC Briddell bolo with a 11.25 inch blade and a thick, axe-like edge. Both of these are just about fool proof, but I don't think either of them would survive a hit from a 30-30.

Production chopper would be "Fehrman",...simply because it does cut good, unlike most of the more expensive brands. No marketing BS, you pay for the knife, not a social status:) Also Fehrman's hold the value, it is a small business that has not saturated the market yet:)
Besides that, I would go with custom simply because it is a better deal, all my customs cut much better then then super high end productions, and they cost about the same.
Lamey made my primary chopper that has been with me last 3-4 years, sold all productions since then, including all Busse's.
Have not handled "Becker" yet, BK9 looks good, and the price is realistic, would not feel "alone" with it, it seems worth every penny.

I am very surprised no one has yet mentioned a Turley chopper. Iz makes THE BEST, sharpest big choppers in the business. I have one of his SERE Bolos that is hands down the best chopper EVER. NOTHING even comes close and I own them all, including the god like NMFBM.

Sounds like you've been reading too many Busse ads. :D

My vote goes to a Busse or maybe a Horton but good luck finding anyone willing to part with their Hortons....so Busse it is. The miraculous lateral strength of INFI ensures you won't ever have to worry about the blade failing on you under pretty much any conditions you will encounter...

For your budget probably a BWM, CGFBM, B10, B11 just to name a few potential contenders

If you wanna defend against zombies, I'd suggest the CS magnum Kukri but be sure you can sharpen the edge to a nice sharp edge. stock it sucks and is one of the worst edges I ever had on a blade right next to my byrd cara cara 2 but like my byrd cara cara 2, I was easily able to put a hair shaving edge on to it fairly quickly.
