Well, darn, not for me. I'll see what next month brings. Thanks for the heads up.
Same for me. I just never got attached to the Vantage series, which is good for me since I have too many other Buck Knives that I do like.

I may be the only one who thinks that the rarity / resale value (Yes, I said it - buy a knife in hopes of reselling the knife for a profit - either immediately or in the future) of the BOTM is being lessened / altered / diminished.

Before this year, the quantity made for the BOTM was what I consider a "Rare" quantity - I believe the Buck website used to say something like 50 to 250 made each month. I consider under 200 made as Rare.

Now the quantity being made is 500 each month (Jan / Feb 2021); possibly that quantity will increase in future months. No limit is specified on the website anymore.

Because of this new quantity increase, I feel like I personally don't want to try, that is a key word "try", to collect the BOTM. Before, a person was lucky to get one (that is Exactly what I liked about the BOTM). You waited . . . is today the day ?, is this the hour ? Then a mad scramble to buy one before they sold out. That fun is now gone. Now, it seems anyone who wants one, can get one. Today, tomorrow, next week - the knife may even still be for sale next month, as the January BOTM is still for sale late February.

Yes, eventually they will all sale out. And they will be hard to find in the future. But "Rare", not really to me. There are So Many other Buck knives made in the past that are limited to 200 and under. I wish Buck would have kept the BOTM to a Rare edition size each month.

To continue my Rant. I'm surprised you are still reading : ) The Legacy knives are no longer limited. The Legacy knives also used to be limited - a set number produced. Known to the public. This makes a knife increase in value / desirability / resale value.

Now, Buck could make 10,000 of each (during the year of 2021) - if that many are ordered. Is it likely ? - I personally don't know what the demand will be for each knife. Maybe only 10 will be made. Time will tell if the "Limited Edition" knife is rare, or a dime a dozen.

Just wanted to Rant a little about the "Limited Editions" of 500 (or more) knives. Not Limited to me !

If Buck is good with it then you should be also. Hint Hint to our last conversation.

To each their own, but the last thing I think about when buying Buck Knives is whether or not I have made a good investment.
First thing I think about - is it a cool looking knife. Second thing I think about - I only buy a cool knife if I can double my money - Today (hopefully that will hold true in the future if I ever decide to sell the knife). Some I keep (when I say some, I now have so many I don't know where to put the 4 that are coming in the mail this week) and some I buy to specifically resale. Due to this method, I have a large collection of knives I love and admire - addiction - that I have Zero $0.00 dollars invested in.

But as everyone says - to each their own. : )

Rather than sell limited knives to dealers at wholesale prices, they are selling them directly to us at retail.
Wise business decision actually.

I buy what I like, and don't worry about the investment aspect.
As long as Buck maintains quality and honors the warranty, there will always be a value in the product.

I like Vantages. I may grab one of these....... Still thinking of the copper Spitfire.

I do like that the resellers have been shut out by this practice of higher production.
That always bugged me more than the prospect of "future limited value" does.
Maybe increased production will bring values more in line with what is appropriate.
Folks speculating on knife values keeps the average person out of the game.
.....And there whining already.:D:D:D

.....over 100 sold already.

That is what I liked about the BOTM - kidding, no, maybe, always : )

Personally, I see no fun in just buying a knife. I could buy any knife I want (within reason). The thrill for me is, finding a knife I want and then getting it for half of it's current value.

The hunt is the thrill, getting a good deal on the price - ecstasy !
