I didn't find any previous forums about it, so keep your sarcastic comments to yourself. If you want to say something stupid, go up to a mirror.

I saw the Mora Light My Fire at a store, and was just wondering if anyone had previous experience with it. What would that knife be useful for?

Thanks.

I am thinking of getting a mora to go hunting. I can't purchase a gun in here, so all I'm gonna have is a slingshot and the trusty mora. Do you think I could kill a bear with it?

Are you genuinely asking what this knife might be useful for?

Well, its a Mora ..w/ a fire steel built in..Well built, moderately priced knife used primarily by those individuals inclined in bush craft, w/ the convenience of having a fire steel built in the handle. Plenty of reviews on line if your curiosity is sincere.

Never lead with your chin.

You aren't serious, are you?

That would be a nice combo with new heavy duty Mora and their great sparker .

That spine is ground for the use of a sparker !! Why not include one !

Can't quite tell if OP is trolling (Kill a bear with a Mora???). Other than that. It is a nice idea for foks who are not as serious about knives/gar as many of us.
Moras are great inexpensive knives that come sharp, cut well and excel with wood related tasks. They are not indestructible (most things in life are not).
Personally I would suggest buying a separate Mora and a separate fire steel. LMF makes other firesteels and their US dealer is also the Mora importer.
The hollow handle were the fire steel fits seems like a weakness to me.
Try a Mora Companion and a Swedish Fire Steel and you will be set. If you find you like the Mora they do make more robust/expensive models like the new Garberg.

Wait so you are telling me I won't be able to go hunting now? Wow... that's a bummer..

Thanks for the info anyways :)

We'll see :)

Not a troll. Actually interested in why everyone loves the mora

That is easy. It's a relatively inexpensive, tested, and efficient cutting tool that has proven to be very robust in various tasks and situations. You can do a lot with it, and if you lose it or if it breaks then you are only out about $10-$15 or so. I'd stop with the snide preemptive commentary as well as the cavalier tone. If you have an issue with the replies you are getting, consider how and what (the way) you are asking. If you feel that you are not provoking anything then report the posts and let us deal with it. Good luck on your hunting trip, a Mora will serve you well.

Its certainly interesting to see you broaden your choices!

You certainly had a negative opinion about Moras before...

The Mora is not a full tang and I'm personally not a big fan of the overall design.

Nobody gotten anything wrong. Its my opinion. On these forums, Mora seems to be lkke a knife someone buys, because everyone else has it. I want a knife that's dependable, and in my opinion it has to be a full tang. I can put paracord or anything on it if the handle gets worn, something i cant say about a rattail

What changed that led you to consider them?

If you think about that, you will have a better understanding of what people like about them.
