It's laminated steel I believe...the edge patinas darker that the rest of the blade and that's exactly how my laminated Frosts do....harder to see after I "flitzed" the blade. The edge chips along the zero grind support my theory.
 
Is UHB indicative of Uddeholm - Bohler? Their UHB20c is supposedly a 1095 equivalent.
