  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Moraknivs

I have heard good things about Morakniv for years. I used to hike a fair bit but haven't in 13 years because of a leg injury. Therefore I have little use for a fixed blade.
I bought a Maserin Solar from Chicago Knife Works and got a "free gift". I chose a Mora 511 Basic and was pleased with the knife. I'll find a use for it.

If you're on a budget and can't afford anything better, a Morakniv Heavy Duty Companion is still more knife than most people will ever need in the bush. There are a lot of very expensive bushcrafting knives that are mostly just backpack decorations. With the exception of my Garberg, Bushcraft, carving knives, floating cork handled knife, and fish fillet knife, I use my Moras as yardening knives; keepng them handy at shed, gardening, and garage work stations so there's always a knife handy that isn't one of my much more expensive ones. Moras are better than their price though.
