More #71 with micarta!

We keep asking for wood or stag covers and maybe a linerlock but we forget the original intent of the Farm and Field Tool knives that GEC came out with. As they said to you Trev, anything added would drive the cost way up.

I'm ok with the current offerings, but it doesn't hurt to ask, and in this case wood. :p I see GEC's point that it would drive the cost up, but i'm very happy with my Bullnose and will continue to be a proud supporter of the #71.

Good point Ed, I guess I'm just a dreamer:D

Loving how dark the maroon is on these new #71's, really making me want to grab another one to go along with my natural canvas!

I mean, it's linen as opposed to canvas micarta covers, that's enough to justify having another one of these in my collection, right?

I think you have a sound & valid argument, pick one up!!

Does anything need to be done to the Micarta like wipe it down with oil or water? I sanded my handle a little to give it a better grip which worked out nice but not sure after that.

It's plastic. (epoxy or phenolic resin). It'll sit there fat, dumb, and happy without you doing a thing to it.

I was staining and sealing some fence boards this afternoon and had the Bullnose in my pocket. I used the Bullnose a few times but was careful not to have any stain or sealant on my hands when handling my knife. Actually I got a little of the sealant on the handle but quickly wiped it off, but it got me wondering. Not sure if I was lucky but if I hadn't wiped the knife handle down right away, would the stain be permanent?

I forget what plastic they used on that one. Some plastics will take on a permanent stain, notably Delrin. Some won't.
