More wild edibles & other stuff !!!!

I really like your wild edibles threads. Thanks for posting them and keep 'em coming.
Last time I went on a hike with my wife and son we tried to idenitfy all the edibles that we could.
Quite a buffet out there if you know what to look for.

Have you ever tried using the Symphoricarpos albus as a soap substitute? The berries are supposed to have a very high saponin content.

I haven't Doc, there is another plant whose leaves you can also use but I can't remember what it is....gonna bug me all night now !!!!!

Bouncing Bet (Saponaria officinalis)? Yucca (Yucca spp.) IIRC. Horsechestnuts (Aesculus spp.) are also supposed to work - the leaves that is, but I haven't tried them yet.

I think it might have been Horsechestnuts that I was thinking about Doc !!!!
