these look good I get back to this in a few

time to put my mark on it

the blade is to big for my jar so I made it up a tub

I go in and clean the blade with long strokes with 600 paper until I like what I see and I like what I see.

I just cleaned off the scale with a wire brush they needs another etch

etched and buffed again looks better to me now when I say buffed I mean with a wire wheel

then a little heat blue

then for a swim in the JP Wax while hot

I like to relive the parts like this it helps with the fit and removes the wax

this is a good way to warm your epoxy and JB weld

A little relief for guard fit

then clean and notch the tang

Great looking blade so far Dave. Looking forward to seeing it all done, that mosaic pattern looks really nice :thumbup: .

I've got one of those little oil radiator heaters to heat my little shop, and I do the same type of things with it (warm up epoxy, get the ferric warmed a bit, thaw other various frozen things in my shop) I have a little rectangular bit of steel sheet that I throw over the top to kind of act as a warming plate, works great, and makes the shop a little more habitable at the same time

Oh, and as for the pictures that don't show up, I've found that I can see all the pictures by clicking the attachments at the bottom of each post, even if they have the red X they still seem to open in the new pop up window just fine for me.

some JB weld for a water tight seal on the guard

put the handle on and with a very big clamp hold the guard in place till dry

now fill the handle with the pest epoxy money can buy tilt the handle and pour in on one side so you don't get a bubble

back in the big clamp
