Yesterday was our 35 wedding anniversary so I was forced :D to go out to dinner last night and couldn't get these pictures posted. :)
I did get started on the sheath yesterday and this is what I accomplished.

Started with 30 layers.

heres the sides of our sheath, today I'll get these cleaned up work on the throat, frog and wood spacer.

ckerwin, many would say she should be crowned a saint and I would have to agree, but don't tell her I said that. :D

Here's an update on what was accomplished today.

Damascus cleaned up and wood spacer sanded to the correct thickness.

damascus piece drilled and ready to be filed out for throat.

Here it is filed to size,shape and sanded to 1000 grit.

Piece of star damascus to become the frog.

Here it is shaped and sanded to 1000 grit.

Tomorrow I'll get the damascus pieces sanded to 1000 grit and get the throat and frog soldered on and hopefully get it all etched.

Holy mackerel, Bill! I love how you cut those flutes! They are so precise, I thought they were machined! Fantastic craftsmanship. Thank you so very much for sharing this work with us.

Bill, that turned out completely wonderful! The dammy sheath with stars on the frog are just the icing on the cake. Fantastic work and thank you for showing it!
 
bill, the knife and sheath look fantastic together. you picked the perfect peice for the frog imo. those two stars look great.
