Most expensive Knife/EDC-Gear you've lost.

I haven't lost anything of mine so far. I'm pretty much always conscious of the fact I have a knife, though. That probably helps.

i just remembered that i did have my first knife ever stolen, a benchmade 522. i completely forgot about that being stolen because i literally was on the internet ordering a replacement five minutes after i knew it was gone so i had a new one two days later and didn't need to go long without a blade in my pocket. my old lady took me to a museum in nyc and i asked the security guard to hold it for me but he refused. so i went outside and hid it where i figured no one could possibly find it and sure enough it was gone when i went back for it. i know it was the security jerk too. he obviously knew that i hid it outside because i went out with it and came back 30 seconds later without it. i was furious...but mostly at myself because i should have known better that the guy was gonna go look for it. so i deserve what i got. what i wouldn't do to get even with that guy...

even tho i ordered the exact same knife as a replacement, the new one never had quite the same feel as the old one. this one has always always been much more stiff to open and close and i still don't have the knowledge of knives yet to know how to take it apart or fix it. i'll send it back to benchmade someday when i can stand to let it go for a couple weeks and have it tuned up like new. :-)

My spyderco paramilitary 2 is sitting at the bottom of devil's lake in baraboo, Wisconsin...

well i got mugged the guy tried to take my hinder xm 18 out of my pocket i out of instinct pulled my gone he gave me his strider smf if i didnt call the cops i wasnt going to call the cops anyway put i got hinder out of the deal :D

I lost a small sebenza, actually my daughter lost it. (threw it away by accident!)

A Parker Jotter pen. It's only worth $10 or so, but it meant a lot to me. I loaned it to one of my dumba** friends for a class, and I asked him where it was when he came back, and he said he must of left it in class. I found the pen in the first vehicle I purchased, the pen was from before 1977, and I really liked it. I was furious when he said he didn't know where it was, it made me depressed for a week.

Most expensive EDC item I've lost... that'd be a Kershaw Leek. I'm really good at not losing things.

Living in northern Michigan, you find that snow is a terrible thing to drop something in lost a 80 dolla hatchet in some of the fluffy stuff, luckily a buddy found it. Hiking out in the snow is risky business when your gear is improperly attached to your pack.....
Boy, do I know how that is! I've lost plenty of things in the snow up here. Most recently my Case Moose, But I found it right away. At a party someone dared me to jump off their deck with only my pants on...realized the knife was gone, but after some digging I pretty quickly relocated it...next to a pile of dog crap I realized I almost landed on!

I lost a stainless Spyderco Co-Pilot, but was able to backtrack my movements that day and find it. OTOH, I never found the Boguszewski Spike or the SureFire Backup. I'm still bummed out about those.

Pretty pissed off, this is the first time I lost a knife. I was at subway today and I think it fell out of my pocket when I was getting my wallet, it was a vic tinker I bought off of X-acto. It wasnt very expensive but damn I loved that tinker, and I've grown attached to it. Tmrw Im gonna give them a call and see if they found one there but someone probably just picked it up and walked away :(

I lost a surefire l4 lumamax in the snow. handed it to a friend while on a walk and never saw it again....

My Uncle gave me a Boker Top Lock for my 16th birthday. He paid $120 for it from the Snap-On guy. I carried it for 6 years. Then one night, I start emptying my pockets to get ready for bed and my front right pocket was EMPTY! I still kick myself for that. I have not lost another knife since and hope I never do.

My coworker lost a HTM Darrel Ralph 2 weeks after he got it as a gift. About $500. My worst was a $25 Kershaw Volt II

HuntBomb and nuckingfuts I couldn't agree more. My most expensive loss was a $300 pair of oakleys. Made the mistake of putting them on top of my ball cap while canoeing a few years ago. A gust of wind took them both into the lake, the hat floated, the oakleys...not so much. They were a frivolous purchase though, I will never own an expensive pair of sunglasses again:) My only knife loss has been one sak, nothing expensive but I wish I still had it.
My worst loss would have to be a folding shovel that my father let me use as a kid. Apparantly one that was given to him when he was younger. I took it far out onto a beach while camping and left it there while the tide came in. We joke about it today but I'm sure he's never actually forgiven me for losing that one. I'm a little more careful with things of sentimental value these days.

I have lost 2 sure fire lights. 1 was the aviator with the red, blue and while light. It was $199.99. I also lost the outdoorsman,$119.99 I have also lost both of my bench made griptilians. I lost a pair of s&w handcuffs.. It sucks. Sorry bro.

Lent a knife, shitbag never returned it. CRKT M21 SFG.

Oh wait, there's that Emerson CQC-11 I sent off to get pimped, along with 240$. It's been over 2 years and I still don't have it, or a refund.

My friend got it worse though - lost a snakewood Sebenza out in the sticks. Something snagged or pushed it out of his pocket.

Have never lost anything expensive, but have lost a very sentimental knife

I was at a rock concert in 2011 and forgot to leave my Opinel No.6 in the car, needless to say, the security took it off me when they searched me before I could go in. I asked them to please keep it safe, but they couldn't promise me anything, but I never could get it back due to absolute chaos happening after the main band never showed up. I was so heartbroken (still am) that I lost that knife. It went with me to my first and only trip overseas to England, Ireland, and France. I remember sitting on a dock in Ireland cutting salmon for sandwiches with my family. I kept it so sharp that it once fell from about 10cm high onto my aunt's leg and sliced it open. It was a carbon steel blade and had formed a lovely patina. It was my first Opinel. I carried it everywhere. When I lost it it felt like someone close to me had died. I bought more knives, but it took me a long time to accept the new knives as my edc. All I wanted was my Opinel back, and still do, but now some idiot has it and is leaving the blade to rust and dull while it bangs around in his toolbox or leaves it rotting away in the garden

Also lost an Okapi ringlock on a fieldtrip, but that's no big deal. Think I left it next to the BBQ and forgot about it and some local probably took it in the morning

I'm missing a Kershaw Corral Creek that my mom bought me when I qualified as a lifeguard when I was 16. Don't know where that knife is. Carried it often when I went to school. Was a good pocket knife. Hope to find it. It has some sentimental value

These days I'm very careful with my sentimental knives. Money value is something to lose, but sentimental value to lose is more heartbreaking
