I see a lot of big, beefy, overbuilt and expensive knives in this thread, but for under $70, I'd put a Cold Steel Recon up against any of them.

Yep, me too. Just as tough and cheap as hell. As an added bonus, they are light and actually have blades thin enough to cut things.
