Most Heavy Duty Folder on the Planet?

I dont get the cost either really 1200$ for something that is majorly cnc/machined theres almost no handwork to my knowledge put into them
as for the edge geometry you can ask greg to profile however you want it to cut paper but his intentions are for it to pierce skulls bones and whatnot so he doesnt make it cut paper unless you ask cuz he thinks its retarded to put it nicely
I think its a good knife just not for 1200$ I can get something a lot more custom for that
If he would build a praetorian t for me w/ things I like for instance different bladesteel without a big charge then i would maybe actually pick 1 up for like 800ish but still when you think about what you can get for 800 its a big difference which is y i went with a custom willumsen instead or a bodega etc

Yea, I'm having a hard time swallowing that 1200 dollar price tag on the Praetorian Ti as well (I think everyone is). What do you think of the Extrema Ratio RAO? It looks pretty sick but I have yet to find an in depth review on it. And if not the RAO or Praetorian Ti, what would you recommend for a really heavy duty overbuilt folder? One that I can acquire w/ out much hastle (some of the knives listed on this thread are near impossible to find). Thanks.

Just get a grayman Satu. Its a beast of a knife, and comes with a world class guarantee. Its readily available, and if you break it, then your are doing something wrong, but the company will probably replace it for you anyways. For a rediculously overbuilt knife that doesnt cost enough that its an art piece, I don't really think that it can be beat. I have one and I love it.

I dont have a big opinion on the extrema ratio because ive never looked into them but just taking a glance idk y u wldnt carry a fixed blade over it like theres ni way your gonna carry that in your pocket just not my thing
If your goal is to absolutely have the most heavy duty knife ever I still vote you contact mikkel willumsen and he will make u folding machete like I posted ealier in my mind I dont know how it gets more extreme than that

I see a lot of big, beefy, overbuilt and expensive knives in this thread, but for under $70, I'd put a Cold Steel Recon up against any of them.

Mikkel Willumsen Urban Tactical Maddox Auto(Blade HQ has them for $550)
Sniper Bladeworks Mini LPC or Large LPC
Mikkel Willumsen Urban Tactical Frankie
Mikkel Willumsen Urban Tactical Tuco

I really like the looks of that Carson Tech Labs EVO.

Exactly, a 3/8-in blade thickness and a massive titanium framelock don't mean jack to me... it's still a framelock and that means I'll almost never consider it the toughest, especially if it has a cutout.

The lock is the main part I care about when it comes to "heavy duty", a blade only has to be so thick...
Indeed. Framelocks, and liner locks are pretty sensitive to impacts because it will peen the locking face. Fine for everyday use. But for abuse, not my first choice. I am not into the fad of over built knives either. Thin is in for me :D.

I think Dalibor Bergam might take the win. I've done some hardcore research on heavy duty overbuilt folders and Dalibor Bergam gets the gold. Pure heavy duty overbuilt awesomeness.

Any knife that puts the emphasis on 'toughness' over cutting ability is just a liability to my eyes. But I realise this is a topic that will never lose its mental masturbation appeal...

To my mind the achilles heel of any folder is the lock strength so its odd that no-one has mentioned bali-songs as they are by design the strongest folders of all.

Other than that the Tri-AD is a very strong lock. Demko has done a vid where he hangs 700lbs of weight on the lock, if memory serves. Its impressive!

ive had a zt 350 and 300 - not impressed. Issues with both. zt 550 was nice, but not a hard use folder. Beast and super beast r nice, but not hard use in my opinion. Strider smf was nice but more edc.
Grayman satu is a perfect hard use folder. not crazy money so you don't feel guilty beating on it. And it takes a beating! Blows zt 300 away. not even close.
Waiting on my cf vis t to show up, as well as my mkt praetorian ti. Pretty sure mkt will be edc showpiece and cf will rotate edc.

Can't go wrong with Grayman. I am a firefighter and this satu never leaves my side. Good luck.

BTW Grayman satu is huge, but rides great in most pants pockets

Dalibor Bergam knives are where it's at for heavy duty folders. They don't have bad blade geometry like some of the others. And i'de say the lockup is arguably better then the Demko. And Balisongs? Really? I have a couple (good ones) and to say they can handle ultra heavy duty tasks like the Dalibors and Graymans and what not is sort of an absurd statement... Balisongs...whatever dude.

without doubts ....there is only one choice: Dwaine Carrillo COBRA full ti..... or scout .
Never had a more roughest and toughest, built like a tank, virtually indestructible folder in existence like that in my hands.

One of his early fixed ones is in the bay ....
