What's the most impressive knife shop or store which has an impressive array of knives have you been to? With so many getting ready to hit the road on vacations some of us might want to check these shops out. =)

The only dedicated knife shop in my area that I know of is Razorsharp Unlimited in Port Richey, FL. I've done a lot of business with Dave and he's always treated me right. In fact, I was just there today and picked up a Kershaw/Emerson CQC6-K. Lots of ZT and Benchmade, tons of Microtech, a little Spyderco. A little Cold Steel, Sog and various other lesser brands. A good few customs. Also a dealer for both Southern Grinds and White River Knife and Tool.

Shooter's World in Tampa just upped their knife selection. They now carry Kershaw/ZT, Spyderco, Benchmade, Protech, Cold Steel, Sog and a few hokie brands. Prices are a little high but not out of line.

Shoot Straight also carries Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, and a little Microtech. Used to carry CRK but last time I was there they didn't have any. Prices are high.

Only been to one knife shop as they seem to be quite rare and that was one in Fishermans Warf in San Francisco if I remember correctly. Can't tell you what they had exactly as I was a fan of knives back than but never heard of Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, etc back than. I knew Gerber, Buck, Schrade, and a few others but that was my extent of knowledge besides the fact that I liked knives.

Best one I've ever been to was House of Blades in Ft. Worth. My candy store when I lived there.

The Fisherman's Wharf shop is We Be Knives. They had almost all Benchmades, Spydercos, Kershaws, SOGs, CRKTs, and some Victorinox. They even had a few Sebenzas in a case when I went. Too bad the prices where MSRP and above. They had a black and digicam Paramilitary 2 at $205...

Smokey Mtn knife works in the Pigeon Forge area of TN is great.

Closer to me, Edgeworks in Frederick MD stocks great quality stuff! Last time he had at least 6 Sebenzas in stock, amazing William Henry inventory, full line of the new LE Bucks for the 110 anniversary year. Plus, the owner Sean is a great down to earth guy who really knows his blades.

Grand Prairie Knives in Troy, Illinois. Off the top of my head the brands I can remember seeing there: Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, Emerson, CRK, Spartan, Zero Tolerance, GEC, Case, Queen, TOPS, Ka-Bar, Becker, Hogue, Cold Steel, SAK, ESEE, Ontario, Boker, Microtech, Al Mar, Strider, Mcusta. I am probably forgetting some.

Great people too.

Yeah, GP Knives is a great place to visit...esp since you live in IL.

Northwoods Knives in Hillsboro, OR. It's a storefront for an online dealer. Great team working there. I drive across town to shop there because of how they interact with customers. I usually fondle at least 6-8 blades per trip when I buy, and they will even make suggestions and hand you extras to feel.

New Graham Knives! I love that place! Smokey Mtn. Knife Works is fun, but 95% of what is in there you would probably not have an interest in, since you belong to this forum. I cannot convince myself to drive past it, though! Every time I go to New Graham I leave with a sense of fulfillment and an empty wallet! Along with a lust for things that I can't yet acquire!

Razorsharp Unlimited, eh? Sounds good, I'll have to visit them this week! How are the prices?

HoB has a good selection but often charges full MSRP. Still, you can find some good deals there if you shop smart.

Not too bad. Maybe a tad higher than you can find online but Dave is a nice guy and treats his customers well. I tend to get pretty decent deals from him.

Thanks. I see he has a few Southern Grind folders on his site, can't wait to handle one in the store.

Yup. He's the first dealer with the new Blade models. He has the full line including all the fixed blades. That's where I got my BM!

Plaza Cutlery in South Coast Plaza in Orange County CA is fairly impressive, not too far from Disneyland if that's where yer headed.

For the folks going to the Santa Barbara area, ya gotta hit Nordic Knives in Solvang. But you don't go there for production stuff...

Don't forget to stop in at Cold Spring Tavern on your way up the 154...
