Most impressive knife shop?

Bitterroot knives in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho has a lot of midrange stuff and is a nice layout. Worth stopping in if you are in the area but they didnt know much about knives.

I bought these knives from Nick's in Oldsmar the last few times I've been there. Just to give you an idea of the variety he has.

The only dedicated knife shop in my area that I know of is Razorsharp Unlimited in Port Richey, FL. I've done a lot of business with Dave and he's always treated me right. In fact, I was just there today and picked up a Kershaw/Emerson CQC6-K. Lots of ZT and Benchmade, tons of Microtech, a little Spyderco. A little Cold Steel, Sog and various other lesser brands. A good few customs. Also a dealer for both Southern Grinds and White River Knife and Tool.

Shooter's World in Tampa just upped their knife selection. They now carry Kershaw/ZT, Spyderco, Benchmade, Protech, Cold Steel, Sog and a few hokie brands. Prices are a little high but not out of line.

Shoot Straight also carries Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, and a little Microtech. Used to carry CRK but last time I was there they didn't have any. Prices are high.

Thanks for the info on Razorsharp! I'll have to check them out next time I'm on the west side of the county.

Coffman Hardware in Mackinaw City, Mi. Incredible Case selection. Decent Benchmade, Kershaw, Kabar, Leatherman, SAK, etc options. Has quite a few of the old Randall and Marbles. Nice folks in there too, always willing to let you fondle the merchandise.

Rylee's Ace Hardware in Grand Rapids, Mi. Nice selection of Benchmade, Spydercos, Kershaw, ZT, DPX, Emerson, ESEE, TOPS, Lionsteel, Case, and local customs.

Best one I've ever been to was House of Blades in Ft. Worth. My candy store when I lived there.

They have a good inventory and carry a lot of brands. The staff always seems nice and helpful, the clientele can be a bit umm interesting though...some seem like it's their once monthly exposure to sunlight outside of their mom's basement and they invariably are oogling over swords and spears and weird shit like that.

HOB's prices are insane though...most local stores seem to bend their customers over on prices, I just can't figure out how some of them stay in business. I know there are a lot of suckers out there but seriously people, it's 2014, do a quick google or amazon search before you get ripped off...or don't and pay $120 for a 14C28N Blur...

The best knife shop (by far) I've been in is Marks Outdoors in Birmingham, AL. Mark has everything, but set up about 100 YARDS of knives a few years back (before he passed). They carry every major brand (yes, ever hard stuff like Strider, William Henry, CRK, GEC, etc) as well as several hundred customs from local and national makers. I've meet a bunch of makers in this shop and the guys behind the counter really know knives.

I have to agree. If you re in the area , a trip to Mark s Outdoors in Birmingham will give you a chance to handle many knives you read about here. Prices aren t too bad for a b and m store.

New Graham in the VA / WV area. If you're in central or north FL, a visit to Ruff's Saddle Shop (Cowboy Knives) outside of Umatilla will make a nice day trip for a knife nut. Plenty of stuff to look at in both locations.

I will have to check out Mark's Outdoors in Birmingham AL. I was just in Birmingham a few days ago.

There's a pretty good place on I40 between the painted desert and Flagstaff. Biggest problem there is the pricing tends toward full retail. Still, I have bought from them when they have something hard to find.

.

Knife City Outlet, east of Winslow-Holbrook. They come to the big gunshows in PHoenix, and do carry almost everything from the major brands. They are at MSRP, and proudly display little signs on their display cases,
"Yes, we know you get get it cheaper on the internet"

Here in Phoenix, the only thing of note we have is Penchetta Pen and Knife in N. Scottsdale. Small shop, but probably over 1k knives in there. William Henry, and dozens of other full-on customs. Full set of Micro-Tech, and Pro-Tech, Case display, LionSteel and Viper, Esee, Spydie. IN fact, now that I think about it, perhaps they are only lacking in BM and CRK.

Yup. He's the first dealer with the new Blade models. He has the full line including all the fixed blades. That's where I got my BM!

It looks like the new G10 models don't have the "wave" feature. Did they stop their agreement with Emerson?

today was my day off and on a whim while I was at them all decide to go check a new place out. I guess I should have checked their site or facebook for their hours. Drove 40 minutes just to get there and see "Monday - Closed" Guess I will have to wait till the weekend to check it out

Not that I'm aware of. I think they decided to offer some models without it based on feedback from people who don't like the Wave.

Anybody know any shops down Miami way or nearby there in S FL? I'll be down that way this weekend.

Smokey Mtn knife works in the Pigeon Forge area of TN is great.

Closer to me, Edgeworks in Frederick MD stocks great quality stuff! Last time he had at least 6 Sebenzas in stock, amazing William Henry inventory, full line of the new LE Bucks for the 110 anniversary year. Plus, the owner Sean is a great down to earth guy who really knows his blades.

Another vote for edgeworks. Another customer and I spent over an hour there yesterday just talking knives with the guy and getting to handle a bunch of the merchandise. Went in for a mora to throw in my car and ended up leaving with an emerson/kershaw cqc 4 instead.

Not sure where you are coming from but if you are driving down the coast you should check out the daytona flea market, they have a few decent vendors there. Then do yourself a favor and stop at dixie crossroads in titusville for some rock shrimp.

Blade Art in Miami has a lot of high end stuff. Hollow Grind is also located in Miami and carries a good selection of Microtech.
