Most over hyped knife currently in production?

Just wow. Thought maybe you were honestly interested in the thread topic, but looks like you just needed a platform for trolling.

Agreed, he watched TNP and brought that crap over here and he wasn't getting a big enough response so he made the other statement.

This is such a pointless thread. Seriously, what's the objective of threads like these aside from bickering over such a trivial thing. Liking one knife over another is subjective. One person might find a particular knife to be ideal and worth the price, whereas another person might not. That's just the way it is. Don't like a particular knife or knife brand? Don't buy it then. It's as simple as that.

No. This thread has value. I'm sure that's why it's still open. The question is whether Morrow can keep it open. If he can, it's a victory for everyone. If he can't, at least he tried.

The best way to keep it open is to get back to the topic. Who wants to go first? Or are we all in?

You're really trolling your own thread?

Is that possible? LOL

But back to the topic. I truly don't see where that spyderco is overhyped at all. 8 years ago, only a custom at 3 times that cost would have been available. I just saw it discounted close to $200, which I feel is a fair deal on it.

As for the not made in the usa stuff, that's just BS. I appreciate what companies like spyderco, BM, and the others do. They come out with nice innovative designs, and I would hate to see their creativity reduced by the PC police.

ok this is a tuff one because I really like the knife own 4 of them and cuts like a laser but the buck vantage is kind of flimsy use the knife and the liner hits the non locking scale blade is centered but thenyou use it for a couple minutes and then its not centered the harder you flick it open the more the liner moves over ect this is on all four.

I guess we come to this point: where does hype come from: users, or the manufacturer? If users fall in love with a particular knife and talk about in on Youtube or on this forum, kinda hard to criticize. You can disagree, but each user presents his own experience. Some exaggerate the attributes of a knife, but hey, that's love. You are blind to the flaws.

And manufacturers promote their goods at trade shows, but once users get their hands on the product, reality sets in pretty quickly.

I have not held a Southard, so have no opinion on that knife. Spyderco usually makes good products, though. In my experience.

I personally don't like the looks of the Southard, but that's just me. We are all entitled to our own opinions right? I have not owned one and it might grow on me if I did. I have handled one a few different times and it is a great knife, f&f, materials etc. But to me I don't think it's worth the price. I am very happy with my ZT 561, and in my humble opinion it's a lot more knife for the money.

Well said.

I'd have to say the Para 2, but yes the recently released 300SN, and Southard is overhyped, but that's because they're new. All of the "big new things" gets overhyped. It's the nature of the beast. Give it time and all the hype will die, followed by another new knife getting overhyped.

Unfortunately, even ignoring the trolling, this thread has simply become unproductive. Before it contributes to more bitterness, lets close it.
