Most overrated knife?

I hear ya Bro.
For me, a LL is all I need. I just like the feel of the G-10 on both handle scales.

Ditto! I find that G-10 on both sides lends a pleasing symmetry and comfort. As well, the liner lock has become second nature to me over the years.

damn! that commander in s30V is exactly what I am looking for! Just needs a framelock but I would take it! now the bummer.......i am broke! Any way. If someone wants to know who and what does Mr Emerson stand for. search youtube for surviving the kill zone. part1. where Mr Emerson introduces himself.

Thank you for that YouTube info, Marthinus, thank you very much.

Doesn't look overrated to me:

Wow! I could be very happy with that duo. The 1911 has always been my favorite.

Boyz---Over Kill---not over-rated! Don't misquote Lycosa!! :D
Nice pair!
Is that a 9mm?? :):p

The "peanut butter wolf" (Chris Manak) is the founder of stones throw records and is still alive !!!
He was a big influance to me when I was cuttin and scratchin them vinyls back in the day

Charizma is unfortuantely dead due to a rather rough and tumble life style,
getting murdered is bad for ones health and is usually fatal

and just like that....

another invaluable life lesson passes through the halls of the Emerson sub-forum.

:D

I might have written a couple of those negative posts way back in the day.

Now, I own almost exclusively Emersons.

It takes some people a while to warm up to them.

Now, I think of them as the Smith & Wesson revolver of the knife world. Lots of people trade in their revolvers for fancier things but, at the end of the day, when the S. hits the fan or there's a bump in the night (or any other cliche you can think of), you feel pretty freakin' secure with the reassuring weight of a S&W in your hand... and you sure as heck wouldn't trade it for the "mystery" automatic someone hands you that you haven't tested. You can SEE that it works.

Oh, and as far as price goes, Emerson has done better than anyone, in my opinion, at keeping their prices down. (Ignoring MSRP, of course.) SURE, they were expensive five years ago, but I can STILL buy one for the same price I got one for five years ago! Hands down, ANYBODY that's broke can get a lightly used Emerson for $100 if they look on the forums or Ebay, just like they could back five years ago or longer. I challange you to find a similar quality-level knife for that now.

Besides, they use regular screws, you can take 'em apart and work on them yourself and, near as I can tell from my experience, Emerson will fix anything that goes wrong with one in like a week with no hassle.

Oh, wait... here comes my favorite part...
If I lose one or want another or want to get one for a friend or something...
I CAN STILL GET ONE! They haven't DISCONTINUED the knife like every other freakin' company seems to do with every model I end up liking! The Commander and the CQC-7 have and will be around F O R E V E R !

.

They did discontinue the 12, HD-7 and my favorite of all the Persian :grumpy::(

Yeah, right? I just started loving the Persian just when I got one a few weeks ago.

But they do keep the Commander and CQC-7.

And, really, when you think about it... they're all pretty much the same thing - just cut out in different shapes, so if you used to have, say, a CQC-13 and they discontinue it, you can get another knive that's very similar.

Try doing THAT if you fell in love with the Spyderco LUM tanto, Manix, Benchmade Leopard, Microtech Amphibian... and a gazillion others, like I did! They become more valueable to sell than to keep!
